The core that the Devils recieved were Muller, Cirella, MacLean, Verbeek etc etc...how many of them won a cup with us? Nieds was a high pick but who tanked to get the higher pick that year? All I'm saying is the Devil since Lou took over have never been in a "tank" mode even last year Lou tried everything to make this team better.

How is that, oh I know it's " lets tank for 5yrs straight and get 5 stars" (kind of like Edmonton is doing now). It worked for them before when they tanked (Lemiuex and Jagr) so it will work again (Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Staal, Fluery etc etc). As for teams like the Devils and Detroit, they have to do it the hard way. Draft smart and make good trades and FA signings....too bad we can't suck for 5yrs straight and rebuild like that

Yup, but that was pure luck. Crosby was a crap shoot as the lottery was relatively even across the board. They lost the lotto for Ovie and wound up with Malkin. Can't draw better luck than that.

I'd hope at this point Lou has walked away from one of either Parise or Brodeur. You try to sign Parise because he will be around longer and Brodeur is replaceable from a production standpoint, but to lost both would be a major major disappointment.
