Yup, when he actually takes the time to give a crap about them

That is true, but when he does... his reports are 100% accurate.

Just took a look at the length of the current Flyers contracts and these offers actually make sense.

- Giroux is clearly going to get a monster deal after his current contract in 2 years.
- Schenn/Couturier are RFA so their raises won't be monster raises.
- Timonen/Hartnell come off the books after this upcoming season
- Meszaros off the books the year G, Schenn, Couturier get raises
- Coburn/Schenn/Grossman locked up through the next 4 seasons

IF they were to both sign here... we are looking at a solid 4-5 years with all of the young kids growing and competing for cups.

I hope they both sign!

JVR went from 1.8M to over 4M in his raise as a RFA. So if Couturier and Schenn prosper, then you can expect significant raises for them. And Hartnell and Timonen will need to be replaced if they aren't kept. And if Hartnell repeats last year, chances are the Flyers could look to re-sign him.

Flyers could easily be looking at Parise/Suter as Hartnel/Timonen replacements long term. If you had to make the decision to let Hartnel walk to have Parise long term... you do it.

As for the kids, yea they are gonna get raises but they aren't gonna be exceeding $5 mill, which still puts them in a good spot with a great core of players here for a long time.
