It's a good way to get well known around here. I've been on this site for 3 years but didn't make an account till this year because I never really commented. I feel like everyone on here is tight and Im the new kid on campus

Nah, the guy who has played 1 NHL game in the last two years, and allowed the softest cup clinching goal in the history of the League makes more sense than those guys.

Plus he's healthy as a horse, not like he's had back surgery or anything.

- PLindbergh31

Why doesn't Leighton makes sense? Because you don't like him? Hockey is hockey. And Leighton played Pro Hockey last Season.

This backup goalie talk is disgusting

Boring as poope.

What is the latest with Doan? Is he domino 3 or 4?

I would overpay for him, as I've stated too many times. If we sign Suter or Parise, look out. The trades to follow will be big.

- Daman

Doan won't make a decision until July 9th apparently waiting for Coyote ownership to be settled one way or the other.

All valid points. My only thought is that Homer wanted to lock up a backup really cheap right now until he figures out what happens with Parise, Suter, Ryan, Nash, etc. He seems to be looking to keep as much cap space as possible for now until the chips fall.

I guess that is the thought process. We shall see how it plays out.

Yes, we can see how it plays out. Or we can just complain now, instead of waiting to see how it plays out.

With Leighton he gets a backup (worst case). Now if he doesnt land any of the big name players he can upgrade that position. Right now he needs all the cap space possible.

I have no problem with Homer trying to land the top end talent in free agency then overspend on questionable talent in guys like Garrsion and Parenteau.

All those players are most likely better options but for some reason its seems that Homer is trying to bank as much cap space as possible. He is up to something even if they dont land a big fish. Noway he stands pat.
- stveshdy

can't see how a couple of those guys wouldn't be in the same ballpark salary wise, but...

I look at the available UFAs and I can't imagine homer doing much more than bringing back carle and jagr if they are affordable. I think suter would be our best choice, but I see him going to DET. parise is likely going elsewhere as well. I just hope he doesn't grossly overpay or in an effort to keep up with rivals, tear apart this young core to get someone like Nash.

He must believe he has a legit shot at landing Suter or Parise. Homer sent out big time offers and if he had the feeling that he had no chance he would of tried to sign other players today.

If we did indeed offer the most money of any team (and possibly up to 110 mil as reported) we'll def get one of them.. Question though, one thing that doesn't make sense.. what happens if both players accept?

Then we will have a lot of draft picks next year.

Seriously tho, they'll take Suter over Parise.
