Phillies and Eagles talk on UFA day. What a lousy day it's been today for signings

- FlyerMike18

Well, the first 12 games it was run support. Since then he's been dreadful himself.

Just overpay in a trade and sign now so he doesn't require spending 12M/year if you do it next offseason via UFA. Can you imagine a year from today if he's on the market?

Leaving them a measly 17 million left

I wasn't thinking about $$$... They have 15 forwards already. They need defense. Only 5 signed (1 was a rookie)

You are going to be shocked with how good the Eagles are this year. You heard it here first.

I'm thinking he wil hit the market. Nashville isn't doing much to convince him they're a big player. All that cap room, why aren't they in on any big names? I wouldn't sell the farm for him just yet.

Eagles still have poor safeties and a terrible QB, but they have improved. Losing Peters stings. McCoy ran behind him all day. Huge loss.

Barring major CBA changes, I could see him being the first guy with a 10M cap hit if a few of the right teams (like the Flyers) have money to spend.

I agree. After these supposed offers to Suter and Parise he'd be crazy not to test free agency next year. I would be extremely surprised if he re-up'd during the season.

If we sign parise for 90mill of 12 years and front load the contract wouldn't the cap hit be under 7 mill??

I'm not feeling this contract offer at all. I like Parise but I'm not confident that he's a $90m dollar player. The years are ridiculous and you know that contract will have a NMC.

No, it's all the money (including signing bonuses) divided by the years. Cap hit is the same for all the years, while the actual money paid to the player year to year is specified in the contract
