Risky
trading Malkin & Syd getting another head shot would put that team in a swoon, would just be easy to keep both & add to the depth, (instead of jacking up there cap adding parise)

- puckhead17

No doubt about it that it's risky. But they've just re-signed Crosby for 12 years and 104M. So they must be confident in his health. And I've also read that the Pens may not be able to get insurance on the contract. As it is a pre existing condition.

Not sure what the Flyers have planned if they miss out on Parise and Suter. Lets say Carle walks also. They plan on just using Bourdon, Lilja, and Gus as the 6th all season? Just doesnt seem like their style.

I'm not sure why the Flyers are even going hard after this guy. Thats too much money imo to tie up into Parise.
- stveshdy

Meh, they will just trade him in two years if he signs in Philly so he can win his Cup.

And the general opinion is that Nash is overpaid, Parise's on his way as well

That is correct. I also read that his contract can't be insured. Crazy.

Todd Cordell ‏@ToddCordell

Let me clarify again here. Bob McKenzie on TSN said the Devils Wild, Flyers, Penguins and Red Wings (not Hurricanes) are on his "short list"

- ob18

I hope we don't sign Bob McKenzie. I don't care if we are on his short list.

I'm just not confident that Parise at that price helps your team or actually hurts it more.

What makes you think that if they miss out on Suter/Parise that they miss out on Carle as well? It is a pretty long stretch to think they are going to miss out on all 3 with how agressive they have been all day...

Amazing isnt it? Ryan looks like a bargain at his 5+M.

No need to worry. He's not signing with the Flyers, neither is Suter.

Parise has the goal scoring touch of Rick Nash but he also is an extremely well rounded player as well. Much more complete player than Rick Nash. True leader.

There is no guarantee that they will or will not miss on Carle. However, if they decide to sign Carle at $6M b/c they miss out on Parise and Suter its terrible move imo.

But from the looks of it, it's the going rate these days. It's not like the Flyers are the only ones making these offers. Two of the most respected teams in the league are right in there as well... Wings/Penguins.

I want Weber for that kind of money. Give me a franchise defenseman that comes around once in awhile. I'm willing to pony up for the MONSTER.
