Well if he does suck, how come Holmgren isn't aware that he sucks? Who by the way, I'm sure has plenty of people on his staff who've watched Leighton play all of last year. They must not be aware that he sucks. What happened the last time Leighton had to step in and replace the starter on a regular basis in the playoffs? Let's not overreact here. It wasn't my choice either. But like Bill says, I can live with it. I'm going to think positive about it.

save your energy I feel as though there will be much to debate about within the next few days.

the 3 UFA defenseman from Van still unsigned I think

Gragnani, Aaron Rome and Salo.

htfua Suter

- Marc D

Whatever happened to Gragnani, I thought he played great against the Flyers in playoffs, now he isn't even tendered. I just don't understand, I hope the Flyers do give him a sniff.

Now it is time for Parise to sign his 100+ mill deal with the Flyers.

No chance Pitt matches a 100+ mill deal for Parise

no drama, he just sucks and homer didn't seem to want to do much shopping. so if bryz implodes for a few weeks or gets hurt we can squander more assets because we didn't do it right the first time...we'll just do it over. have seen this act way too many times.
- isaiah520

"a huge middle-finger to the fanbase" isn't dramatic at all? come on

i also would have preferred a better back up, but let's take it easy on the hyperbole

judging by the ~ 10 other horrid goals he gave up, I'd say we lose. homer doesn't get that this is a middle finger to the fan base choosing this MF'er right out of the chute...maybe if other options were exhausted but...

Did the minimum get raised, or were there other teams wanting ML? Was he bidding against himself again? 900k is too much regardless.

What were the chances of ML available, say, 2 months from now?

The backup goalie should have been the last of Holmgrens problems - instead he overpays on day 1. Bar is usually set very low for backup goalies, but Homer tripped and fell on his face here.

I don't know... too much of this 5ft 11 stuff going on and 100 mill is a lot of cheddar for Parise.

You put Parise and Giroux together and... is there a better duo out there in the NHL? I'm not sure there is... (malkin, crosby dont count as they are on diff lines)

I heard the samething about Carter/Nash last summer... not saying that'll be the case but chemistry isn't always a lock. I'd rather the price be more econimical before i roll the dice and find out.

this makes me think about Parise and Crosby, maybe they will and maybe they won't have chemistry together

they both like to score by going to the net

I'm guessing they would be great together but you never know

Leighton had a ton of suitors. Holmgren had to act fast to get Leighton locked up. When Bryzgalov gets hurt, everyone will be jacked and pumped Leighton is here.
