we'll see

dreading Parise in Pitt though, much preferred him to go west

- Marc D

eh to me it ain't no biggie as long as the Flyers learn to defend their own barn.

Other top players are going to wait until they decide. Because the teams that lose out on Suter/Parise could then make higher offers to other players, then they've already gotten.

Matt Carle is sitting on a pot of gold.

Ek posts Montreal has 2 yr offer on the table for Jagr, if that is the case JJ will not be a Flyer.
- ravishingone

Why the hell would Jagr play for Montreal? He doesn't want multi year deals either so that isn't going to be the determining factor.

I'd bet a small fortune he does not play for the Canadiens.

It's his new strategy, offer the moon for players you aren't going to get anyway to drive up the price for the other teams
- Marc D

Good point. I am sure when agents accept those offers and Holmgren responds with a "just kidding", it will raise his reputation througout the league to new levels.

Matt Carle should text Suter and tell him to hurry up already

did Gaustad sign with anyone yet? if not I'd rather the Flyers overpay for him at this point I think 2.5 a year for goose would be more doable then 150 mill 18 years for Suter/Parise.

It was a bad goal, no doubt (the laws of gravity were defied in my living room when it happened) but he's the backup and goals like that mean you are the back up. LEt's remember the Flyers brought him in on waivers after like 2 or three guys went down to injury. He was lucky to be there to begin with but he did get us there.

One concern about the prices today is what it is going to cost to resign Jake

Jagr has said that he only wants a one-year contract wherever he goes.

like bill said earlier, he's a below-avg backup...plays his best w/ a lot of work which he won't get. and let's not forget that he misled the org about his back injury. rotten karma on this one really.

The Flyers can also upgrade the backup goalie situation. Maybe not in the summer but during the season.

I'm lukewarm about it. I'm okay with him posting a .880 and 2.99 gaa in 25 starts and if God-forbid Bryz goes down we know he's okay enough to ride in the playoffs for a while.
