I don't mind Leighton being the back-up, especially for the price. I think Dallas got value with Whitney, 2 year deal was pretty good.

For a team like Dallas, I agree 100 percent

Homer should just fiddle while watching the rest of the teams burn. These contracts being tossed around are mind numbing.

Thats why I believe Homer has made the best signing today so far.

Flyers still pushing hard for Suter. To make room, they traded Briere+2nd to the Phantoms for Matt Walker

He's exactly what this team needs. A veteran who has cup experience. Complete steal if you ask me.

So we cant do crap until we hear from Suter/Parise? Who will probably sign in pittsburgh anyway. So we lose out on other pieces while our rival gains 2 stars......F them for the dirty play

It's his new strategy, offer the moon for players you aren't going to get anyway to drive up the price for the other teams

I'm okay with it, like bath water ok... You're back up goalie should not make or break your team.

that could backfire tho if your rivals just let you get them. I'm not feeling to giddy about having to move contracts just to get those two guys....

Ek posts Montreal has 2 yr offer on the table for Jagr, if that is the case JJ will not be a Flyer.

I have absolutely no issues with them going after those players. None. Especially when Pitt is in the running as well. It's a smart move all around.

Other top players are going to wait until they decide. Because the teams that lose out on Suter/Parise could then make higher offers to those players, then they've already gotten.
