A freebie with a large cap hit...
Just joking, good for the Oilers, they're really setting up for being a dominant team in the West. - 13sundin13
absolutely HUGE cap hit at like 3.775 |

Because having young kids automatically means dominant?
Pul-eeze. Not trolling the Oilers per se, but in the last 3-4 years of the "rebuild", they have shown less forward movement than any of the teams that built through youth!
Quit looking at this unattainable past and focus on getting out of the bottom two of the West 1st!

Congrats Richard
And Oil fans I had some fun with over the last couple days.
I guess I was wrong about guaranteed playing time.
But ...while we know you are excited with the kids, lets lay off the talk of "missing piece" and "Cup in a couple years".
The Canucks always spend to the Cap, will do anything to win, and will continue to do so.
Thats not going to change because the Sedins get a little older.
But hey, maybe you get out of 29th this year! Moving on up!!!! - vancitydan
I havent read every post on this thread but not once have I seen someone say missing piece or Cup in a couple years.. We realize that this isnt gunna make us contenders but its a small victory in the big war. |

And if he is as advertised the cap hit becomes rather pedestrian. It is definitely a calculated risk. |

Isn't he advertised as a potential 3/4 d-man? |

Nice grab...i'm interested to see how good he can be in his first year in the NHL, especially on a team that has been known to be shotty defensively (yes, kind of like my team). Edmonton is my 2nd favourite team in the NHL to watch, now with Yakupov and if Shultz is good as people say...this should be even be a more exciting team to watch. |

David rundblad last year was hyped to be a star and crumbled, i hope he works out for Edmonton fans but this amount of hype won't help the guy - Paul99
Rundblad didnt crumble. That sounds to me like your trying to justify getting Turris. Rundblad didnt hit the free agent market. They arent compareable |

Lol @ everyone congratulating the Oilers as if they signed someone great.
The guy is unproven and is a selfish kid.
Its like congratulating a corn farmer for winning a seed. Who knows if the seed is corn or an apple or a watermelon seed.
Congrats are due when he proves himself, not by acquiring him. |
