Weber is going to break both of Schultz' legs and crush his ribs. The kid deserves no respect for "choosing a team to play for"

I loved Torres, hated that we let him go.
Tootoo has issues, wouldn't want him anywhere near the young kids.

- Scooby_Doo

I *very* nearly love Torres but... well... would you rather watch Torres play, or whichever superstar he injures next? **** Torres. A smidgen away from the kind of player every team needs to win the Cup but at some point in time you have say enough's enough.

Yeah, if you like an entire album with lyrics that go like this:

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Acoustic guitar
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
More acoustic guitar

- Juice

That could be ANYONE nowadays! Maybe Lincoln Park doing an unplugged set?

You Edmonton Oiltards are starting to sound like the run of the mill Nucklehead fans. Arrogance already and you still haven't made it to the post season for a few years. Are we seeing a Pittsburgh model, in Oil Country, or will it be the Islanders model. Draft high, then watch the season die.......processing................
- PrinceLH

eh... I'm sure if you had signed Schultz, some Oilers troll would be dropping this kind of rubbish in your thread... but you didn't, so he's not! Get a job!

He likes to mirror his play compared to Letang and Doughty. Wow, EDM be lucky if they guy turns out to be either one of Letang or Doughty.

Take this to the bank: Even with Justin Schultz in the fold, Oilers will make a huge push to land UFA Ryan Suter Sunday.

i'd be a little worried about signing the younger players with in the next 3 years. But it all depends how much Suter would make.

Suter will not sign in Edmonton. He has a better chance of winning in Nashville. It's a good franchise, has great fans, has a low cost of living and he likes anonymity. He won't sign in Canada.

Edmonton needs more veteran help on the blueline but finding help to get a legit top 1 or 2 dman pairing, which they don't have, is tough. They might have to overpay for someone like kubina or kuba for depth but they're still a couple years away. they need some leadership on the backend though.

Schultz is a good addition to this team but if former college ufa's are any indication, it's not a slam dunk. i wish we got him in Van but that's a big cap hit for a guy without an nhl game. oilers have the space and can play him over 20 mins a night if he can handle it. he wouldn't get that in Van and wouldn't be the top offensive guy in Ottawa either which is why he didn't go there.

My guess is he will listen to our offer but sign elsewhere for a 7 or 8 year deal paying him 7 million per year. I wonder if it's smart to throw that money at him with us having to sign Hall and Ebs a year down the road. If they improve even more, they will want about 5 each.

Goaltending is still a question mark.

I highly doubt Suter would sign in Edmonton either.
Agreed we lack a #1 D-man, but we have too many low end D-men as it is. Schultz the Elder will supply all the back-end leadership we could ever want, but it seems like Hall is our leader amongst the forwards, which speaks poorly of Smyth. Doan would be awesome. Jagr for a year would be great - with either of them we'd have a shot at making the playoffs (between our existing Wunderkids getting a year older and adding Yacks and Schultz, we just got a lot better) but Jagr could do so much to mentor our glass cannons. Plus Hemsky is apparently the catnip to Jagr's wussycat. Maybe we'll see a happy Hemsky on the ice again. Seems like forever.

and I'm arrested for the murder of Steve Tambellini. It's OK though cause I just say "Your Honour, he needed killin'" and the jury not only aquits me, but gives me a medal.
