Because having young kids automatically means dominant?

Pul-eeze. Not trolling the Oilers per se, but in the last 3-4 years of the "rebuild", they have shown less forward movement than any of the teams that built through youth!

Quit looking at this unattainable past and focus on getting out of the bottom two of the West 1st!

Ignorance is bliss.
Should the nuge and hall have already brought us to the promised land??

Year 3 rebuild coming up. Fact. And dont argue, cause thatll force me to explain in great detail and you'll come off looking more foolish than u already do.

Deflection much? That's usually what people do who have no argument.

You're that person.

You still haven't ,mentioned these "facts" you spoke of. I just brought up one fact that I knew of.

Again, your team just won a cup, you should be giddy and happy. Not spitting dairrhea all over this forum because the Oil signed a FA.

A signing for someone with potential like him deserves some applause, if only to prove that 1) the oilers can still attract FAs 2) the city itself isn't as bad as everyone thinks.

Whether you like it or not, schultz is regarded based on his play with Wisconsin and has a great projection, so indeed congrats to the oilers

- Conquest

Ahhh rational thought. How i missed you.

Thanks

EDM just needs to stay the course of the rebuild. Klefbom next year is gonna be a huge a help. Trade Whitney for w/e u can get. Gonna need some size in that top 6.

He is not a typical FA. He hasn't played a game yet.

Plenty of players have had potential and failed at the NHL level.

You don't congratulate a team for signing a guy who has never played. Congratulate them for signing a guy who has played, is proven, and decides to play there.

Look, Edmonton fans are getting mad at me right now, and it's quite funny.

I never said for them not to be happy. They should be.

What I'm saying is all these fan bases are coming in here congratulating them like they just signed Parise or Doan, etc.

They didn't. They signed a kid out of college.... woohoo

I haven't mentioned a fact?

So him being unproven is not a fact?

Him being selfish is not a fact?

Huh... maybe I don't know what a fact is.

Because signing just one of Parise or Doan could guarantee us success short or long term. You're a douche bag. Oiler fans aren't acting like anything other than elated that an FA not born in Edmonton chose to come here when he had a cupboard full of other choices. We have every reason to be happy and if he is a bust, it won't be the first time. This signing gives us hope, no guarantees, just hope something that has been short supply as an Oilers fan.

Fortunately most farmers are experts at what they do, I am confident that a farmer could tell the difference between seeds

- Media and agents hyped this up, not Schultz.

- None of you people can say he isn't worth taking a chance on. There were 26 teams calling about him, and other 3 probably just realized they didn't have a chance. I'm likely to think those 26 GM's know more than you do.

- He agreed to a 2-year deal with the Oilers. Yes he has a cap hit of like 3.75 million, and he could end up not being worth it. But guess what, its only two years, and we have the cap space to afford it even after signing Hall and Eberle next year.

- Vancouver fans, get over it. Your team is still good, and you'll still make the playoffs so (frank) off.

- HE'S STILL ONLY A PROSPECT!

Dude. What high horse are you on. Its no diff than a team being congratulating for they draft choice. Im sure ppl congratulated them when they got Yak or when they won the lottery to get Yak or Hall or Nuge. Chill out dude.

Imagine if that seed turned out to be the kind that grew big beanstalks and that farmer climbed up and found a bunch of golden eggs? That would be tight son!
- weirdoh

Hell yeah. I bet that farmer has a kid named Jack. Just a hunch

Lol I think that is rediculous to ask a rookie..
- Oilfan19

As an oiler fan right now i think its easy to get ahead of ourselves. Its an exciting time.
A solid rookie campaign from him and yaks as well as the oilers battlin for a playoff spot right till the end satisfies me.

With that said, i think tambs should be FAR from done. Another proven dman and size/sandpaper up front

Congratulating them for drafting Yak or Hall or Nuge is dumb too, lmao.

The people thinking he's going to come in and pull a Karlsson will be quite disappointed. He may or may not turn out...my point was mainly that if you're a GM you have to try for him.
