That was Broduers last grasp. If he still has so much left why is Jersey even risking him going UFA they aren't in a Bos/Van situations where they have a capable starter waiting in the reeds.
Shero got Vokoun because in the last two seasons Fleury has been overplayed because Johnson couldn't cut it. They needed a better backup.
Not many people are blaming Fleury for either playoff loss. Against TB the injuries to Crosby and Malkin played a big role, as well as a PP that went 1-27. This year the whole team fell apart from the coaching down. - Ben37
Because they dont have any money and Parise is basically gone.

If we happen to land Parise, you could probably convince most Pens fans that a Jannie Pesonen return would be a good idea, just because of the high we all would be on! - ryman1566
haha Pesonen was a star in the Fin League and AHL....didn't pan out on the NHL.
I'm ok with the idea of not signing a BIG free agent on D. Allen would do it for me (trading Lovejoy)
Screw it.....I really want Armstrong and Prust on this team.

I won't wish for a concussion on Marchand or a broken leg on Seguin...perhaps a spine concussion on Lucic haha...I'm not that bad.. |

In non #PariseWatch stuff: Look for #pens to take run at Prust, who may fit as winger for Sutter - ryman1566
It's only fair that Prust signs with the Pens since the Rags signed Rupp last season. |

if prust is that sought after, the rangers will resign him. if moen gets 2 mill per then prust is worth more than that which is too much for a 4th liner on a top team like pittsburgh. on another team where he might get 3rd line minutes, it makes more sense. |

Was it armstrong and crosby who were really good friends when he was here or what? I can't remember who... - Magicmanmalkin
It doesn't matter if they were best friends or not ... I'd pass

Only 5 hours of hype before GMs can get down to the business of seriously overpaying players who will break their hearts + salary structures

Just got internet service back. Horrible storm went through here. Many still without power. Considering the heat it will be brutal for some. Snapped telephone poles like toothpicks. Incredible. |

I didn't realize that Guillaume Latendresse was a UFA!!! I know he had a major concussion but this guy is great when healthy. I would offer him a 1 year deal if I'm Shero. |

Is it noon? Thought it started at 12 AM? Guess that would explain all of the non-activity. |

Yes noon... The NHL got it right on this one. Starting at midnight would hurt the attention UFA frenzy can bring. |

I was just looking over Tom Cordells blog and an intersesting name jumped out at me on the blueline; Bryce Salvador.
ASSETS: Plays it smooth and steady in the defensive zone. Can be a physical force and punish opponents with big body checks.
FLAWS: Isn't much of a factor in the offensive zone. Can struggle when lined up against speedy National Hockey League wingers.
CAREER POTENTIAL: Physical stay-at-home defenseman.
If Martin can't be moved Salvador might be a good name to come in and play work in that partnership. |

Darren Dregger is saying that Doan will wait until July 9th to decide, looks like he wants to wait on a decision on Yotes management first |

imagine if doan, parise, brodeur, and suter all stay with their current teams...it will be such a let down with all the hype these guys got about hitting free agency |

maybe.but think if they do go somewhere else other than pitt along with a few other guys. What do we do with that 14 mil in cap space? no way shero goes into the beginning of the season with that much room |

Brodeur would get lit the frank up in this system and Fleury would look like god in New Jersey's. Tough to compare but I have no issues with Fleury's confidence going forward.
Now that the crazy talk is over, welcome to Pittsburgh Zach and Shane |

He would e a great signing but I think he made himself a pretty rich guy with his playoff performance. Don't know if we would like him at the number he's going to sign for. |
