wow... maybe 4 or 5 years ago when he was with Edmonton. WAY too much!!!

yeah i understand. what would worry me is the value that i feel despres could bring NOW. to go out and try to replace him with a veteran is going to cost like 4 times as much. apparently they just inked souray to a 3 year deal that wasnt exactly cheap in my eyes. i am sorry but i just do not freaking get them.

We shall see. I just hate to see Shero break from his responsible UFA contracts. Even Martin isn't going to kill you cap wise. But you get in that 8M/yr range and don't produce, you got problems.

in all seriousness.. i hope the Flyers give Suter 100 million... I dont think he'll be the dman that he was... it's easy to look like an all-star when Weber is with you. Flyers have no one close to Weber's capacity.

It's easy to say Garrison is better than Martin after a down year by Paul.

I'd rather keep Martin than sign Garrison at that price.

I find Suter to be more well rounded than Weber. He doesn't need Weber to be a top pairing d man. That said, don't be the team to give him 100M.

Maybe now you would but not when Paul Martin was coming out of New Jersey. My point is nobody knows how the players are going to play in a new system. I would honestly rather have Martin.

Garrison left $ on table - was offered "Wideman money" elsewhere - but wanted to play for hometown VAN, which held firm on internal $ scale.

Ok...he left some money on the table but I wouldn't pay him that much regardless. Good for Vancouver (considering how crazy the MKT is right now).

Not to mention, nobody knows what Makin is going to want. Maybe he doesn't feel like "helping" the team. Maybe changes in the new CBA put limits on length of contracts and Malkin can't sign a 12 year deal spreading out the cap hit. If Parise costs them Malkin, I'll puke. Parise is very good, but Malkin is great.

I know Doan isn't the perfect fit, but I know his contract wouldn't tie the hands of the franchise.....for oh say....the NEXT 12 YEARS.

Malkin isn't going anywhere....don't panic.....if money is the problem I can say Shero would trade almost anybody to keep Geno (unless he's the one requesting a trade)

EDIT: Doan would be great even after getting Parise on board.

It's not automatically great. Have to see the money involved, also that is not a source I would consider reliable.

I trust that Shero would never jeoparadise Malkin and the franchise and really over Pay parise. If he signs here I think we will all be shocked I could see like 10 years 72 mill. If it was just about the money he'd be headed to Philly. I'll pass on suter. Just hope he knows exactly what he wants to do if he gets snubbed by both. I know we won the cup but I don't want a repeat of Satan and fedetenko.

I would love Parise's talent on the Pens, but I view it as more of a luxury not a need, especially at these crazy rates/terms.
