1. Komarov said if he's not on Leaf roster by November, he's going back to russia (told his KHL GM that)
2. Komarov has proved in russia that he is a solid player... he's a super-pest.... Something we need.
3. Komarov would fit nicely with Stecks and Brown - cor99
1. Not that I'm gonna call your bluff, but I'd love to see something to support that. Komarov openly said at the world championship he wanted to play in the best league in the world, and was willing to take the chance.
2. Komarov has proved squat in Russia. 11 goals and 50 penalty minutes. 90% of the team can post those numbers, hit, and agitate if compelled, they actually have talent.
3. As soon as you endorsed steckel returning, you lost all credibility. |

So it is agreed that the Leafs won't sign anyone worth signing, but will overpay 2-3 guys to play on the 3rd or 4th lines? - daeth
Obviously, what else would happen? Something to improve the team and put us closer to winning a Cup? |

I just have a gut feeling Kessel might be moved this summer for a center... i'm trying to figuere out who needs a winger, and has excess centers available.... My only thought that jumps into my head is Colorado...
I like D'Amigo as well, and Prust doesn't really fit on a 3rd line role anyway... but is D'Amigo-Lombardi-Frattin a big enough 3rd line for Carlyle? - cor99
D'amigo plays big though. So does Frattin..Frattin hits surprisingly hard. I know what you mean about size, but the size and power needs to go into the top 6. Frattin and Damigo are both good two way hockey players with speed to burn, can kill pks. Id like to even see that line centred by bozak, maybe even Kadri if bozak is forced to stay up top.
I have the same feeling about Kessel. If the top 6 has a big centre and another big winger like Clowe, then that would be a fine 3rd line imo |

3. Steckel is a solid PK'er and is a great faceoff man.... for 1M he is a fine 4th liner |

I think we get Roy though for MacArthur+Franson+Blacker, from BUF... then deal Kessel in a deal for Nash...
Lupul - Roy - Nash
JVR - Grabo - Kule
D'Amigo - Bozak - Frattin
Komarov - Steckel - Brown
Connolly/Lombardi

I have no problem with Steckel on this team... I think Karomov will turn out to be like that Swedish meatball Burke experimented with to get the Monstar to sign... |

Not a Roy fan...and for his subpar last cpl years thats a huge overpayment.. and those lines id put Grabs on top line. 5.5 mil and could be nasty with nash...not that leafs are getting nash |

His GM from the khl said so? Solid evidence... And even if true. Let him go back, who cares.
We really want to act like that's a rare kind of player? You can find those guys everywhere.. And they actually come with skill. The amount of 20 year old kids that have gone to the marlies to structure their game, and the one guy that's gonna come straight to the big club, is the 21 year old pest from Russia. Sounds good.
Steckel is exactly what's wrong with this team. Another big soft talentless forward that struggles on the backcheck, and his coverage game is non existent. But, he wins face offs, and having a 7 foot stick makes him an allright penalty killer on one of the worst penalty killing teams in the league. That's like being the smartest kid with downs syndrome. Easily validated to be the first guy back in leaf nation..
We already have komarov and steckel. I'm just pumped to be able to draft in the top 3 with that mentality.[/img] |

Richard wallin. A solid two way center. Great passing and vision.. Potential to center top line. Love being a leaf fan. |

My dream scenario...
MLSE holds a press conference in the next two days to announce a double Nash signing/trade. Raptors Steve Nash and Leafs Rick Nash. Then again if I were dreaming accurately Kate Hudson and her flat chest would be my wife |

How do you compare those two? hahahah. That guy didnt even get a point i dont think. Steckel had top 5 faceoff %, and still got 8 goals, was used on pk (altho hes not a great penalty killer, just nice to win faceoff and start them at their own end, he should be off right there) he contributes for a 4th line centre... Wallin...i dont even know what to say to that |

there's no problem with a 4th liner going straight to the NHL...
Steckel isn't the problem with our PK, our goalies don't help, and the fact that we only have 1 PK specialist in Stecks doesn't help either
Steckel is a hard worker, and hits people... and he isn't meant to have "talent"... not all 4 lines need to have 30 goal scorers |
