He's asked not to fight. Wilson (at the time) said it's more important for you to be on the ice. I'm not a huge Dion fan, but there is a reason he doesn't throw down. - A_Tree
1. Because he logs 30 minutes a game.
2. He's pretty terrible at fighting anyways.
I agree. The guy gets waaaay too much flack. For everything he does right, he gets tarred and feathered for one fcuk up, which happens to pretty much everyone. He's the Captain of the fricken Maple Leafs and that magnifies every mistake by a thousand. The guy is so overrated that he's actually underrated, if you know what I mean. - Phenom
Couldnt agree more. A lot of it has to do with the fact that he plays so much and against all the best players in the leauge without a legit first pairing partner. So, what if he makes the odd turnover? I guarentee you if the Leaf fans who rip him spent the entire game paying attention to Weber, or Chara, they would see that every 26+ minute defensemen makes multiple bone headed plays every game.
BTW about the Kariya/ Kadri comparison, it is valid if Kadri gets moved to the wing because despite whatever "Kariya was remembered for" He basically turned into a centre once the puck went over the blue line. His vision and passing skill as a winger would be comprable to Kadris. Still this in no way means they are of equal talent. People are just dumb i guess/

Against Boston??? I was at that game too. Had 1st row seats. A-MA-ZING! - Phenom
that was a good game. i had a row of 10 bruins fans behind me for a bachelor party. not just that, but they were beside me and my girlfriend. they even spilt beer on my schenn jersey before the game started. also, that was the game kadri scored his first career goal

hartnell approached him on several occasions. now i dont know if he was just talking poop and then dion wanted to go and he said no or if dion said no. no one was on the ice so we wont really know lol - matt1337
I remember Dion squaring up with him, and shaking the mits, Hartnell skated to the bench like a female dog and then Brown went after him.

Why? The Leafs have been building properly since the Kessel trade. If we are patient and keep our first round picks, we will have a base that can propel us for years to come.
Next year a top 10 pick will get you a good forward. A lot more forwards in next year's drafts. As far as Rielly, let the kid go to junior and hopefully dominate and maybe be a go to guy on Canada's blue line in the world juniors. - wendel13
Finally someone i can agree with before we trade Kadri give the kid a franking chance he hasnt even played a full season in the nhl!!!

Because when you draft players, you try to pick kids like Ryan Getzlaf. Forwards don't always pan out so easily...see Kadri.
I can't see them getting along. Kadri isn't a defensive player, and we've already got our pure offensive wingers in Kessel and JVR. Kadri is either going to be in the AHL again, or put on what will undoubtably be a defense-first 3rd line. Either way he'll hate it, pout, and suck. - Feeling Glucky?
No offence but I think you should just read, try to learn something and refrain from posting. You are out lunch on almost everything youve said in this thread.

Agreed that there is stress from the coaches to stay out of the box. But you can't deny Dion is a puss. Would be nice to see him clear the crease, protect his goalie, and stand up for his teammates. You can do those things without fighting.

Dion isnt nearly as good as those guys. - robin_steele264
Not even close, its more then his boneheaded giveaways. Its his stupid pinches, letting people walk around him, being soft and lazy in his own zone. He has no idea how to play defense.
