again i dont disagree, but say getzlaf gets injured, the deal was kadri, our 1st + and now we fall out of a playoff spot and have a lottery pick. anahiem just won kadri (a 7th overall pick) and a lottery pick which could be mckinnon, jones, monahan or barkov and then we could also even lose getzlaf to free agency that same summer

i never wanted him gone. i have his jersey and loved what he brought to the leafs as a player. the thing is, had he gone back to kelowna for a year and maybe a year in the AHL, he could have developed a more offensive side to his game rather then being just a pure shutdown dman. hes shown flashes of offensive upside, but had he been able to develop that for a year or 2, i bet there never would've been a conversation about him being traded

Schenn was my favourite player. Nice to see somebody else who saw those offensive flashes. He would always get the puck to the net and would make smart passes in the offensive zone. Sending him down would have further developed that but he was also NEVER given the chance at the pro level. As a rookie, he got some pp time. But after that he never really saw time again.

I don't see the 3rd line as a shutdown line, but a secondary scoring line: all the tough defensive assignments go to Grabs' line.

i was at the game when he had that lidstrom-like rush and scored that beauty of a goal, to bad i was distracted by lucic trying to start a fight with aulie when it happened imagine what a year or 2 could've done. would've given him much more confidence. he also has a pretty good first pass out the zone when hes confident
