Personally I think that for his size Aullie does not play anywhere close to as physical game as he should. Hes like a really tall girl! In all honesty I think he's a great kid and I hope he puts it together for the Lightning, but I think Ashton is a better prospect.
- Jimmy_T

I'm not too sure what indicates that assumption, but I'll let it pass.

I'm still holding out hope. Just like I'm holding out hope Burke does something to drastically improve this team..even, get this...IF IT INVOLVES TRADING KADRI!!!!
- weirdoh

the one guy we dont rush into the NHL and everyone wants to trade the kid. they got so much grief for rushing schenn into the nhl. look at what 3-4 years did to gardiner. was drafted in 08 along with schenn, developed properly, and then made a huge showing in his rookie year. kadri wont technically be a rookie, but basically hes been developing for 3-4 years (with some call ups to the big club) and now he should have his chance

Aulie isn't physical enough?

I see...

HOw is it madness? JVR played centre his whole life. He was drafted as a centre. He then joined a Flyers team that had Gireux, Richards, Carter etc. Could some of the reason he has not already turned into the player he was expected to be because he was not playing his natural position?

I am not saying is or will be a centre on the Leafs. Only that he might be and that suggesting that is not in any way, shape, or form "madness"

- Jimmy_T

It is madness because many Leaf fans think this is the first line centre we have been waiting for. He in an NHL winger, and will be on the Leafs, guaranteed.

Yes.

However, and I believe this is were weirdoh is going, if a trade opportunity arises to improve the team by implementing a solid player into a problem area - you pull the trigger.

For the record, I really like Kadri. I hope we can keep him....I'd trade Colborne a million times first. BUT....I'm saying IF they get a #!C right now, he'll most likely have to be included in the deal. Especially since in that scenario, there'd really be no room for him in the top-6. there's no point putting him on the third line with his skillset.
- Phenom

To me, Kadri could be a really good centre type winger a la Paul Kariya. He could still be a top line centre for all I know, but his size and lack of defensice acumen makes me think he could be a good winger/

Clearly. No way you'd trade him to bring in legit talent. Why would you?

How often does that happen????????

Sorry, I worded that wierdly. I meant that thats what the wacky fans do. Hypothetically , they want to trade Lupul, Kessel, Dion, etc. Happens all the time.

No doubt you wouldn't want to upgrade the team, who does these days.

Unlike JVR, who has the makings of a 100 pt center.

The Leafs are poop at it anyways. But let's be honest here. If a deal came up for Getzlaf and Kadri was involved. You'd squash the deal?

Well yeah... if you're getting a Getzlaf, trading Kadri is a no brainer...

i get what you mean but why give up on a guy before we see what he can really do for a full season? not only that, it will cost more then just kadri to land this solid player that fills a problem. realistically, if we wanted getzlaf it would cost kadri, our 1st and more. just a hard price to pay though getzlaf would be loved as a leaf

(frank)ing whore! I loved him. Oh well, he didn't get to preform due to injury. Some team will get him at a very nice discount.

Agreed. BUT, in my opinion Schenn as a rookie was even more impressive than Gardiner as a rookie. Plus he was 18. How do you know Gards won't have a sophomore slump? Schenn was great in his third year, our best Dman that year, Leaf fans wanted him in the all star game. Then he tailed off again and everyone wanted him gone.

Paul Kariya.

Interesting.

- Two_For_Truth

Why do people on here seem to think that any kind of comparison is the equivelent of saying "Kadri will be as good as Paul Kariya" Come on. That is not what I meant in anyway.
