Has he played center at the NHL level? I mean not take a faceoff when his centers gets kicked out of the circle.
- Symba007

No he has not. He was drafted as a centre but was immediately moved to the wing. Burke said he expects him to be a winger and likes him playing "on the wall". This was by no means a trade to solve our first line centre issues. There is just a slight possibility that Carlyle may decide to try him out at centre.

leafs need to bring back jason blake, bozak needs a mentor

Faster than Lebda. Amazing wrister. Accurate as hell. What's not to like. Leafs do need to fill the "lack of skin pigmentation" left by the buy out of Armstrong.

If Kulemin get's over his personal crap for this year I think they would return to prior glory. Mac and Grab played pretty similar to the year before that Kulemin was difference in my opinion, if he can't get him back drop him to the third line use JVR in his place.
- maverickJ

Kulemin will not score 30 goals again! his shooting % was through the roof. But he may double his output from last season. 15-20 goals would be considered average for Kulemin in my eyes.

Ok, since everybody is on their soap box and claiming to be better fans than the next guy because somebody might want to trade somebody or not. Why are "all Leaf fans" afraid to trade guys like Kadri or other young guys? If a deal came about for a Getzlaf type player you'd quash the deal because they included a guy who may or may not become a 2nd line centre? Wouldn't the smart thing to do be get the guy who will help the team for the next 6 years with his proven talent? I understand the need to draft a superstar but guess what, unless something magical happens the Leafs don't seem to have one waiting in the wings...or centres (LAWLZ).

Hey, do not every lump me in with most leaf fans.

Most Leaf fans think Burke is doing a bad job. They say ridiculous things like "we should trade Kadri"

Luke Schenn is one of my favorite players in the NHL, but when you trade a defensive defensemen for a top line forward you have made an incredible theivery. Look, the only reason this trade was even possible is beacuse of JVR's injury history. If he was healthy this last year, there is no way PHilly would make that trade. That is a fact.

- Jimmy_T

The only issues I have are the following: perhaps Schenn could have been in a package for a better player or CENTRE. And the Aulie for Ashton trade now really bothers me. With Schenn gone, it would have been nice to keep Aulie. Ashton doesn't look like he'll get a chance to make our lineup for years to come.

That line needs to be detonated....

Grabovski would be the only one who survives an explosion.

He can walk away from anything unharmed.

I think 20-25 personally, I could see him getting to thirty again maybe one more year but not consistently.

Kulemin should be bumped down to the 3rd line, which is probably the salary he will be offered. Mac needs to be moved in a trade to free up room for Kadri. JVR is on the 2nd line and sadly we endure another year of Bozak on the first line.

Ya I dont understand the Bozak hate. He was thrown into a 1st line center role and he is not a 1st line center.. I dont know what people expected from this kid, did they actually think he's be our solution? Maybe thats why they're so dissappointed.

I wouldn't put it past him.

Personally think Kule should remain on the 2nd line, but that's just me...

- A_Tree

Part of me agrees with that.....I love the chemistry between him and Grabo, but if there is a more talented right winger like Doan or *gulp* Nash on the team.......

Ok, that is sensible. If its for a package to land a Getzlaf, I don't think anyone should really be untouchable since its not like we have a Crosby.

My problem is that there is this narrative where Kadri is a bust, Kessel is someone not one of the elite players in the nhl and Burke is two steps away from riding the short bus.

I regularly get called an idiot because I can look past the results to see the Burke is building a good team. I could be wrong, who knows, but I see the Leafs roster as a bunch of young kids with lots of skill and the chance to grow together into something special.

The words out on Orr is all im saying...every champ has his Reign...and then they meet younger hungrier fighters.. First is was derek engelynd (sp) on Pitt, and then a kid on Edmonton, and then Parros...Orr was a good fighter once, but Parros >>>Orr and no room for two guys that only fight.. Parros can do all the nothin Orr does when not fighting only guys still fear Parros... I liked Orr too, but hes a different player if you watched Calder run he wasnt even doin much there

I'll remember him for his multiple knockouts of Matt Carkner.

He was qualified which means it'll be slightly higher than his salary this past season. Not sure exactly how it works

It seems as though the Leafs traded two defensive defenders for two big forwards and it seems odd that they would have traded both instead of keeping at least one of the two. Especially when you consider the Leafs have big problems in the defensive zone.

Who was the other trade you're speaking of?
