Mac has been solid as a Leaf but he's not really a bottom 6 guy and he's not good enough anymore to be in our top 6. Especially with this whole new "getting bigger up front" mentality. - dionschenn
is JVR going to play center or LW? |

It would be much easier to deal Mac. Being a Sabre fan, you should know how hard it would be to deal Connolly. - Phenom
I still think that Connolly can be moved, once all of the top end UFA's are gone. Teams are going to scramble, to fill holes and at a cap hit in the 4 million dollar range, on a one year deal, teams will look at this as a stop-gap until next year. With a new CBA on the horizon, the next batch of UFA's many not have the option of long term deals. It's a good possibility that there may be a cap on the number of years a player can sign. |

I'm guessing Prust will now get Armstrong's $3 million per / 3 year deal now... le sigh |

Joey Crabb apparently done as a Leaf as well... - SofaKingBored
That's actually too bad....I think his play last season earned him a contract. Perfect 4th line RW. |

darcy refused to move him, the longer he held on to connolly, the better the chance he won the peca trade that forced hasek to leave buffalo

Carlyle used Connolly quite a bit ina third line shutdown C role. The real question is whether or not he felt that Connolly can play that role this season. In my opinion we will go into the season with Bozak-Grabo-Connolly once again...

Still $12.75 million being wasted on Connolly, Lombardi and Komisexual this year... - SofaKingBored
Yeah that is pretty awful but I don't think it will prevent BB from attracting one of the big FA's... I'm more concerned about the lack of roster spaces available due to these poopbags. |

Like i said earlier, right now Komi is the only physical player on back end. And other than Brown maybe the toughest guy on a soft team. At 4.5 or whatever, its actually not bad when you consider what other d men sign for now and Komi is a leader of which leafs have none...
This might be a year where Komi is effective for the team. Bottom 2 min, but a guy who plays nasty and fights..and wasnt terrible under limited time under carlyle |

Well Connolly will probably be on the IR for 40% of the season and perhaps a sucker GM will take Lombardi... we're stuck with Komi... I hope he plays well |

Isn't that what we did, signing him after B-Rad went to the Big Rotten Apple? We've been regretting it ever since......what makes you think another team would be dumb enough to do the same thing?
Then again, I'm sure Burke has Howson on speed-dial by now. |

It's tough to see Armstrong go but it is the right move, I'm not too sure anybody would have traded for him, we will see if he is taken off waivers. Then again the team might just wait to sign him for cheap. I don't really see how the cap hit for 2 years at 1 mil per year works though since he makes 3 mil a year, but I never really got buyouts.
That is one of the 4 gone. I really want to get rid of Connolly and Lombardi yet. Komisarek I wouldn't mind staying, he had his best season as a leaf last year and we lost a lot of grit in Schenn. |

poop, it's starting already? Usually it's after 3 or 4 games when the whole team has a great start.

Prust's last two contracts:
2 year / $500,000 per
2 year / $800,000 per
Tomorrow, Cliff Fletcher suggests a 3 year / $3.5 million per deal... |
