Yea he's at the top of my list out of the three but would you really be upset if they signed parise tomorrow
- griouxmvp2012

Not tomorrow but in a few years when his huge contract means we have to give up other players, yes. Parise has been getting way over hyped this year in my eyes. He's not worth the Malkin/Crosby money he's gonna get.

Oddly similar. I split the d at the blue line instead of going wide. Otherwise about the same

Homer is just trying to make Rangers overpay.

Have some faith.

Slow night. Not a lot of rights being sold. I guess it's the big increase in the Cap letting many teams keep their guys.

"In short, it's tough to imagine the Flyers trading either Schenn or Couturier—though it should be noted the Flyers GM Paul Holmgren has made a habit of trading players shortly after they sign long-term contracts and gave Ilya Bryzgalov nine years and $51 million."

One wonders if an editor removed something or the writer really did vomit up that non sequitur. It seems as though he was suggesting Bryzgalov would go in a deal to Columbus for Nash.

Happy UFA day/Canada day all..

I'm reading that we're back in talks for Nash, butdear lord, I don't see how that will work without gutting the team for a guy with a huge cap hit. I hope Homer doesn't overreact even if Pitt goes nuts and signs say Suter and Parise.

Sign a backup tender (now that Biron is not an option maybe go with Mason, Clemmensen or someone like that) sign one dman and look at your options on wing.

Welcome to Brad Richards/Justin Schultz take 3 with the Parise files. Again a player bunkered down in Toronto to listen to offers, which will paralyze FA until he chooses a team.

Suter is doing the same thing. I expect things to be very very slow until those guys make their decisions.

I don't mind as much about Suter but the Nash and Ryan deals definitely aren't happening until Parise makes his decision.

thought the same thing when I read it. Can't imagine there's anything to that though. Does bryz have ntc/nmc?

Yea thats the part that Im more interested in. So many FAs re-signed so that in itself will be fairly uneventful, especially since Ive convinced myself we are not in the Parise/Suter sweeps and have moved on despite how awesome it would be.

Nash and Ryan situations are very intriguing, plus theres always that move that no one expected that happens.

I just remember the feelings some recent big moves gave me, signing Roenick, trading for Forsberg, the addition of Nikoli Zherdev, and the Richards/Carter trade. I hope to have that feeling again today while retaining Coots, but I fear that the more Homer goes over it in his head, the more a Nash deal involving Coots becomes justified as "Well really its like Carter for Nash"......

EDIT: Clearly the Zherdev comment was in jest

Wouldn't even buy it for a second. They obviously just made a pretty big investment with Bob, not to mention the goalies they drafted. Itd make more sense for them to keep the Nash contract then to take on another goalie for 8 years.

sure- just wondering why it was written that way. Intentionally just to stir things up maybe? Also don't understand the reports linking brodeut here, sure it's just bs as well.

Yeah, I read it just as some guy talking out his butt. Bryz does have a full NMC btw.

Yes. I just think the person "the sporting news" or not, is stupid.
