I'd wait.
sign a #5/#6 vet, Salo maybe
try to land Doane for three years
maybe go after Moen.
Otherwise, wait for a trade or a Weber long term.

whatever.
someone of that ilk.

took a puck about 6 inches above the wrist on the inside of the elbow pad tonight. I now have a three inch knot in the middle of my arm.

The expensive market continues

Todd Cordell ‏@ToddCordell

The Nashville #Predators have announced that C Paul Gaustad has signed a 4-year, 13 million dollar contract extension with the team.

$3.25 AAV (cap hit)

- ob18

I would have like to have picked up Gaustad as a 4th line center. Although, I thought his price was going to be too high.

Does any one have an option on Jay McClement (Av's). He's got good size, only 29, Cap hit last year was ($1.45M). Not sure if he's expecting a large pay raise? But, from what I heard... They say he's a good at face offs, great PK specialist...

Let Jay play with Rinaldo, Wellwood, Sestito. And, move Talbot to 3rd line wing. And, let Jay/Talbot do the PK.

He claims he's moving to Canada to get away from USA universal healthcare, so I don't know if he's in the team's plans anymore

That's pretty bold. I thought the general thinking was 2-3 years away. I guess there's always surprises though. Couturier was known as one of, if not the, most ready guys in last year's draft I think.

Prob not this year. But if the kid is touted as a bigtime cerebral player and is defensively sound, I don't see why he can't be up next year for our 4th line center job

I would think the Ducks would want D back and if Carle leaves we have no one left to give and not REALLY hurt the team.

except he is smarter than us and if WE can figure it out, he already did.

OK, maybe Homer by himself isn't. He got smacked in the head quite a bit as a young man.

I would sit on my hands until I saw who had to get dumped to make it work.
and that would be a horrible position to be in on homer's part. everyone KNOWING you had to move guys and you get zero for them because of it.
I have to believe that if Homer wanted a serious run at Parise, Suter, or Nash, he would have made the moves already like Shero did.
Pens will end up with at least one big name in the next 24 hours.
I would not be shocked at all if Shero gets Suter and Doan for next year. Doan might even take a pay cut to do that and have a huge shot at the cup.

Danny is a hard one. his regular season cap number is sooo hard to swallow, but is is way under paid in the post season.

If they could somehow swing ryan, I could see them letting Hartnell walk or maybe try to deal him. Kind of the same guy, not much of a money swap.
