This is hilarious. I think I'm just going to start drinking. - doon
No doubt..I am getting sick of this crap...who cares move on I was stoked that he might be a nuck but now I REALLY dont care. Just trade Lou already get a descent prospect ,pick whatever and move on. Lock up garrison and your done. To my fellow canuck fans that disrespect the Oilers...be very careful, so what if some overhyped players don't want to sign there When was the last time a team won the cup with freeagents. The fact is the Oilers have a pleathora of talent and will be scary good in 2-3 years. As a Canuck fan that sucks for us because our talent pool waiting in the wings is not even ready to play shinny. I look forward to seeing the oilers play there young guns with the fast and up beat style THEY play flat out, which I love!!!! Enjoy the Sedins and all this team has to offer for the next 2-3 years cause after that its gonna be rough IMO. I do believe in gillis and we will be competitive for a long time and hopefully have a chance against a very good oil team, but not with the talent base we have. Whom ever gets schultz hopefully he is billed as expected. |

In all seriousness, if the Oilers aren't a powerhouse in 3 years after having the plum draft picks the last 4-5 years then something is wrong. I guess rebuilding like this is one way to do it, I personally would prefer to have a team like detroit who can draft well even though they don't draft high and continue to have a strong team year after year. Hopefully this is the way the Canucks are going to do things. - stuckey
I agree with you. If they build a good young team then hopefully they aren't banking on high picks. It's not like the Canucks and Wings have been powerhouses since they have been around. I think you have to give the fans credit for being so patient. |

Instead of spending 5 Mil on Garrison ,I would rather add another mil and go after Doan for two years at 6 mil /per
Gillis must have something brewing for him to clear cap space and roster spots. - VANTEL

I think Detroit has been a strong team for years now so not sure what you mean. Even though the Canucks have won nothing they have still had a strong team for a while now.

So was that a hockey argument from you or a 'your team sucks' argument? Guess which has a little more credibility? Since when is getting to the 7th game of the SCF 'collapsing'? And this year they got beat by a better team -- no scoring will win you nothing. Yes, the 8th seed was a better team by the time the playoffs rolled around. |

Colby Armstrong has been bought out by the #Leafs.
As per tradebreaker. Not sure how good a source he is. - stuckey
Chris Johnston @reporterchris
For those asking, the #leafs will pay Darcy Tucker $1 million each of the next two seasons -- same as Colby Armstrong. |

I'm just saying that you need a good solid team before you can be consistently good. The reason the Oilers fell from grace was because they couldn't afford to keep players around. Things are different now. |

Honestly there isn't a team in the NHL that develops defenseman like the Canucks. Over the past four years there isn't a team that scores more from the back end. He has a chance to win and put up points for his next contract. He'd be stupid not to choose the Canucks or Rangers. Oilers, Leafs and Sens Who'd wanna play in Deadmonton. Not much to say about the Leafs......, are the Sens really in Canada? - Boinker
Detroit and Nashville seem to develop d men pretty well |

You had me in full agreement right there (the rest is blind speculation). I can't wait for this to be over so we can get back to talking about Rick Nash all summer. |

Didn't see any of those posts by the tsn guys. Anyway I'm not quite holding my breath in the same way I would've if it were Shea Weber or Zack Parise involved. |

No. It's because Lowe gave out ridiculous contracts. That's what makes Gillis so good. The cap hits of our players are incredible. |
