Prove me wrong. Don't just sit there and call me names. How do TOR look like a playoff team. What are the strengths of this team this year or next year.

I bet if the Leafs had a 7 game series against the Marlies they would lose.

I didn't say that Toronto was 100% playoff team this year. They are going to struggle to make it, as the team currently sits. You said in the next 5 years they will not make it.

The team now although they have Dmen depth, they are not a solid unit. Too many of them are offensive minded. The best Dman on the team is Gunnarsson, he always makes the right play and you never notice him. Dion, is overpaid and as much as they say he does, he does not shutdown the other teams best line because his foot speed is too slow.

All that being said with a lot of prospects as well on D, they can use that for more help up front. They need a number 1 centre not one who can just put up points but one that can wear out the other team.

Goaltending is suspect, after Reimer had the concussion he came back and was awful. You can't write him off but a lot of questions to ask. They need to get tougher.

In the end they could still compete for a playoff spot if they can pick up a veteran goalie, and make a move for another defensive minded dman.

Far from a championship team but a lot of young prospects.....

Vancouver also has their problems so don't be so cocky, with Kessler being off last year they have one line. Shut the Sedin's down and you win, that simple. During the regular season teams cannot do that, but in playoffs where line matching is more prevalent. Well you saw what happened.

Also, as much as I believe Schneider to be a great goalie. You are also going into a season with 2 inexperienced goalies. He might have a great regular season but lets see if he can lead them to the Stanley Cup knowing he is the only guy.

I don't think there is a team in the league that promised a kid that never played in the show top minutes. They probably told him that with the D they have, he has a great chance at it.

I don't think our team could do better than offer him a trial pairing with Edler .If that is not good enough then bon voyage.

No one wants to deal with your fool of a GM . He trades mosts of his picks. Your 5 year rebuild starts this year.So I stand by my first comment. Leafs will not be a playoff team for the next 5 years.

WTF are you talking about, Burke's trades are the only reason they have any talent on this team. This is why I didn't even try to have a conversation with you. You are just simply an idiot. yes, calling you names is probably the only thing you understand.

BTW what amazing trades has Gillis done to improve the Canucks??? The structure of the team was built by Burke & Nonis.

Can a normal Canucks fan please step in for a hockey convo. I know most of you are intelligent.

If the reason Canucks lose because they wouldn't promise the minutes of playing time, then I am ok with that and good riddance. Can you imagine how desperate a team would need to be to promise a kid that walked out on his draft team and demanded minutes

Good luck with that attitude.

That will be a nice thing to have in the locker room. If a player that has never played a NHL minute is your top D then you need him more than us

Source on "demanding" minutes? Newport Sports is top agency in business and smart enough not to start making stupid demands.

yea the rangers have a couple of his ex-teammates from back in college so that could play a part. apparently we're in the final 3 so let the most attractive destination win

i thought it was pretty obvious that vancouver weren't going to get him. playing in front of him friends and family every single night at home? that sounds horrible tbh...

And thank you, for representing the arsehole Canuck fans like yourself with no knowledge. The interview was with Nik Khabibulin's agent. Me thinks the word that came out of that agents mouth about where players want to play probably holds more water than anyone here.

But arrogant and cocky Canuck fans like you continue to think everyone wants to play on the team that knows how to win during the season but collaspses like a wet paper bag in the playoffs...

So did St. Louis, Phoenix and New Jersey... We lost to a better team, how is that a collapse? We had injuries to 2 of our top-6 forwards and were feeling the effects of a short off-season thanks to us getting to Game 7 of the SCF last year. Heck, Boston lost too and they won the Cup last year, at least we know what winning's like and don't rely on lottery picks to play right away. We actually develop players and put them in positions to succeed, which is why even if our window closes on the Sedins, we'll be able to replace them with players ready to take over and continue to be a force for years.

Shane Elliott ‏@elliottneck
@IanEsplen Reportedly Robert Kron just got off the phone with #Schultz on #Canucks behalf. Now Schultz is leaning towards Van again.

Ummm it's easier to get your defense tougher. Kulikov is an offensive talent. Something we need.

Wrong. Bell and Rogers will spend next year fighting over corporate issues. May e not renewed next year but here for the year.

Your angry, irrelevant rant sounds much better though.

In all seriousness, if the Oilers aren't a powerhouse in 3 years after having the plum draft picks the last 4-5 years then something is wrong. I guess rebuilding like this is one way to do it, I personally would prefer to have a team like detroit who can draft well even though they don't draft high and continue to have a strong team year after year. Hopefully this is the way the Canucks are going to do things.

Instead of spending 5 Mil on Garrison ,I would rather add another mil and go after Doan for two years at 6 mil /per

Gillis must have something brewing for him to clear cap space and roster spots.
