Are you going to not try and sign Garrison? Kulikov? Ellerby? - manvanfan
Garrison is as good as gone, Ellerby is nothing more than trade bait at this point. Kulikov is the only keeper, logically, out of those 3. I think you guys need to realize that we aren't going to mortgage our future to get you guys out of a contract. It isn't going to happen. |

Honestly there isn't a team in the NHL that develops defenseman like the Canucks. Over the past four years there isn't a team that scores more from the back end. He has a chance to win and put up points for his next contract. He'd be stupid not to choose the Canucks or Rangers. Oilers, Leafs and Sens Who'd wanna play in Deadmonton. Not much to say about the Leafs......, are the Sens really in Canada? - Boinker

You know.. I get a kick out of Canuck chuckleheads like Ian who think Coffey and Gretz called the guy to talk about the glory years to this kid because you are too damn ignorant to maybe think that they were talking about the RICH HISTORY this team has overall through it's whole existence, and not just a 7 year stretch. And the type of organization this team has and everything tied around that. Sorry, I understand you might not see this because the Canucks don't have a sniff when it comes to this. That's what happens when your team has won jack poop and will continue to do so. You guys had your time in the sun and you blew it, twice.
Maybe instead of bashing the Oilers organization and thinking that no players want to come to Edmonton anymore, you should get some knowledge and brainpower and know what the ^%$# you are talking about. I know, I know.. it's hard, because most Vancouver fans have become like Leaf fans. Think every player wants to go to your team even though you've won jack crap. When was your last cup win again? Oh wait, you don't have one, that's right. At least Leaf fans can say their club HAS a history and tradition behind them being an original 6 team and such. You guys have NOTHING. And in trading away Luongo its only going to get WORSE.
If you still think players have no interest in coming to Edmonton, maybe you should take a read at this link. It's likely a player agent knows more than you EVER WILL.

Regardless of whether Justin comes to Edmonton or not isn't the point. Personally, how a kid with zero NHL games to his name is controlling this situation is rather disgraceful in my mind. Reminds me of Eric Lindros all over again, hes just not the first overall pick. I don't know if I'd want that type of an attitude in my team's lockerroom and what will the viewpoints on the rest of the players on whatever team that gets him be. Spoiled, rotten, little brat would be my thoughts.
But this constant drivel about players not wanting to come to Edmonton anymore needs to stop because clearly as the link I provided above shows, it's not true anymore.. and nor should it be. There are no other teams in the Western Conference that can boast a young forward group like the Oil have with Ebs, Hall, RNH, and Yaks. I'll take those four over the Sedin Sisters, whine and cry Burrows and dirty Kesler any day. The only team out east to rival this would be Philly and Pittsburgh.
Flap yer lips all you want, you'll be eating crow when this Oilers team is back on top again in another year or two. And oh, btw, if you do your research, we tend NOT TO blow opportunities when we finish first overall. Just sayin. - Oilers4ever2012

So what you are saying is Edmonton is a desired destination for free agents because these players listed who have no choice but to play there, play there? OK.
Sorry, forgot about those huge Khabibulin, Hordichuk, Eager and Belanger signings. |

If the reason Canucks lose because they wouldn't promise the minutes of playing time, then I am ok with that and good riddance. Can you imagine how desperate a team would need to be to promise a kid that walked out on his draft team and demanded minutes
Good luck with that attitude.
That will be a nice thing to have in the locker room. If a player that has never played a NHL minute is your top D then you need him more than us |

I am not 6 years old, I don't have a "best comeback." I will just let you to continue to speak as obviously either you are just being an idiot or in fact you know nothing about hockey.
Most of Canuck fans are very intelligent and understand the game. There are a few just like some Leaf fans that are idiots. I will let you decide which category you fall under. - jsam7
Prove me wrong. Don't just sit there and call me names. How do TOR look like a playoff team. What are the strengths of this team this year or next year.
I bet if the Leafs had a 7 game series against the Marlies they would lose. |

I'm sure they promised him an opportunity to play big minutes. And yes the Oilers need him more than you. It would be funny if he chose the Nucks and see you back track. |

Leafs fans. What a mess your organization is. Have fun missing the playoffs again. - Boinker
Does the inadequacy of not being in the center of the hockey universe bother you that much? Does it still tick you off that Leaf games get the most airplay on CBC? Does the fact that the Canucks haven't gotten to the final and won eat at your soul? Does it rip your heart out that the Kings won it with their core being a more physically robust, less wimpy group give you cause for concern?
Yes no question that the Leafs organization could be better... but its being put back together by the same guy who built the core of yours... and that requires some patience... which is something the Vancouver fan base should be familar with.
I'm not unduly concerned about the Leafs... they'll remain the most popular team in hockey - whether they win the cup, of whether Vancouver does. But I won't sit sweating through early playoff rounds worry about which round my team is going to fold it up in.... or waiting expectantly for the officials to call a hooking or holding penalty on one of my teams many dives. I'm comfortable with the rebuild as its unfolding. I'm not wondering whether my team has taken its best shot.... are you?

You have the cap space to sign Garrison. You have more then enough future. You need a reliable goaltender right now named Luongo, with a good cap hit. 29 million in cap space. Look how bad Florida has been for years until last year where you went out and spent some money. Why not give up 2 players and get a piece that you need now. |

I've had the pleasure of watching an amazing team the last five years. No Leafs team ever has been as good as the Canucks. Are you happy you won your cups in a 6 team league? I find it funny that Leafs fans think people are jealous that they get their air time. I find it kind of embarrassing for you actually. . The worst sports city in the North America. I don't think there is a team in the league that promised a kid that never played in the show top minutes. They probably told him that with the D they have, he has a great chance at it. |

They seem to forget this point. That they won their cups when they had a 1 in 6 chance. And that they haven't won since we came in the league. And we have 3 finals appearances to their 0 since we came in the league. And they haven't been a relevant playoff team in years so basically they suck bad. |
