Have you ever seen a blog of any type (KHL included) where dopey Leaf fans don't believe it is all about them and dumping Komi Kadri and a 2 nd?

Pot meet kettle. There is no mention anywhere about a Leaf deal and you can bet your ass this blog will be overran by Leaf nuts.

Don't waste your time on me. Dale Tallon needs your advice.

Tim Thomas isn't going to play ever again, no team is going to want to take a flyer on someone who held his team hostage by deciding to take a year off putting the Bruins in a bad spot when they wanted to trade him because they wanted to put Rask in as #1. Not to mention his antics and his political views disturbed what was a really tight locker room in Boston, you really think Florida, which is a fairly young team is going to want that gong show?
- DariusKnight

Ummm not sure if you misinterpreted that, they get Tim Thomas who has one year left on his contract. He does not play next year, Florida does not pay him but the contract still counts towards the cap. Therefore they can hit the cap floor easier. Understand?

You know.. I get a kick out of Canuck chuckleheads like Ian who think Coffey and Gretz called the guy to talk about the glory years to this kid because you are too damn ignorant to maybe think that they were talking about the RICH HISTORY this team has overall through it's whole existence, and not just a 7 year stretch. And the type of organization this team has and everything tied around that. Sorry, I understand you might not see this because the Canucks don't have a sniff when it comes to this. That's what happens when your team has won jack poop and will continue to do so. You guys had your time in the sun and you blew it, twice.

Maybe instead of bashing the Oilers organization and thinking that no players want to come to Edmonton anymore, you should get some knowledge and brainpower and know what the ^%$# you are talking about. I know, I know.. it's hard, because most Vancouver fans have become like Leaf fans. Think every player wants to go to your team even though you've won jack crap. When was your last cup win again? Oh wait, you don't have one, that's right. At least Leaf fans can say their club HAS a history and tradition behind them being an original 6 team and such. You guys have NOTHING. And in trading away Luongo its only going to get WORSE.

If you still think players have no interest in coming to Edmonton, maybe you should take a read at this link. It's likely a player agent knows more than you EVER WILL.

http://oilers.nhl.com/clu...460&navid=DL%7CEDM%7Chome

Regardless of whether Justin comes to Edmonton or not isn't the point. Personally, how a kid with zero NHL games to his name is controlling this situation is rather disgraceful in my mind. Reminds me of Eric Lindros all over again, hes just not the first overall pick. I don't know if I'd want that type of an attitude in my team's lockerroom and what will the viewpoints on the rest of the players on whatever team that gets him be. Spoiled, rotten, little brat would be my thoughts.

But this constant drivel about players not wanting to come to Edmonton anymore needs to stop because clearly as the link I provided above shows, it's not true anymore.. and nor should it be. There are no other teams in the Western Conference that can boast a young forward group like the Oil have with Ebs, Hall, RNH, and Yaks. I'll take those four over the Sedin Sisters, whine and cry Burrows and dirty Kesler any day. The only team out east to rival this would be Philly and Pittsburgh.

Flap yer lips all you want, you'll be eating crow when this Oilers team is back on top again in another year or two. And oh, btw, if you do your research, we tend NOT TO blow opportunities when we finish first overall. Just sayin.

Don't worry Canuck fans have it all figured out for you. These really should be handling both sides of the negotiations.

Speaking of figuring it out, has Burke figured out how he is going to build a team that doesn't qualify for a lottery pick?

If Shultz does not want to play a playoff game inthe next 5 years ,then Leafs and Oilers are the team to choose.

Just kidding. I think Shultz is a big douche too. Can't believe he is going to turn his back on his best buddy and decide where he wants to play based on what he thinks is best place to go.

No, we do not need Luongo. Before he was on the market, not one fan down was screaming to trade for him. And too be honest, most fans down here, myself included, don't want him back here. And Versteeg/Kulikov are not going anywhere. Huberdeau certainly isn't moving. McFarland maybe. Howden no. Bjugstad... I'm 70/30 towards a no. But if you think Dale is going to let his leading scorer; whom he brought in himself a year ago, leave, you're crazy. Kulikov has a better chance at being dealt simply because he wasn't a guy Tallon brought in. Again, we are better off signing Brodeur to a two year deal and having him mentor Markstrom. While his numbers have not been solid, Markstrom is the best goalie not playing in the NHL right now, and everyone knows it. The ball is in our court, not yours.

I try to be fair an open as a hockey fan but comments like this are just annoying. Ya the Leafs have sucked. Where the F, where the Canucks when the Leafs were going deep in the playoffs every year.

Teams go in cycles, they both have the same amount of cups since the Canucks joined the NHL. Remember that before be all high and mighty like you have a dynasty of a team. Sedin's are not getting any younger.

Florida does not have to win now, they are building something good with all their prospects. Why not ride Jose one more year? They are not ready to win the cup, so they shouldn't take on a long term contract at this point. Cap floor is not an issue as I am sure that will drop dramatically after the new CBA.

Plus, they can just go get Tim Thomas and not pay him anything to hit the floor.

- jsam7

You shouldn't be in the sporting business with an attitude like "don't need to win now" especially in a market where support hasn't been traditionally good...

Yeah, nobody who was born after Gordie Howe played knows who he is...... Usually your posts are either clever or unabashedly homer rants. This ones just off base. Everybody who watches hockey is more than a little aware of Gretzky. What a bonehead post.

If Shultz goes to Edmonton he will be expected to anchor the D core without ever playing a single pro game. No pressure big guy. Just don't disappoint Gretzky and Coffey.

Markstom is completely unproven. Luongo gives the Panthers a great shot at the playoffs again. He has the ability to win games all by himself.
- fiveandagame

The only thing I can honestly and fairly say is IF they give too much for Luongo, it leads me to believe there is a more serious injury to Markstrom then has been let on. Markstrom is also being thought as a player with another year in San Antonio, which I have a feeling he isn't happy with. That being said, the last thing I worry about is him being "unproven". He did OK in the few games he played with the Panthers last year, and he could learn more, play more under Theodore who has one more yr on his contract. As "just a fan" who knows really what the "ins and outs" are regarding it all. I just feel that if everything with Markstrom healthwise is fine...then an overpayment for Luongo is crazy. And, if it does happen, then Vancouver should take some salary back such as perhaps Upshall.

I would rather trade Grimaldi than Bjugstad. But hey, I'm also not objected to trading Bugs. I just do not think Tallon is stupid enough to pull the trigger for Luongo. Unless Theo, Garrison's rights, and a Kopecky goes back the other way. We grab Raymond and Luongo and everyone shuts up. You won't get a decent prospect in the deal, we are helping you guys just by taking the money that you will then have to go get your future star.

Agreed. There's a lot of no's but I could see Luongo and Raymond for Bjugstad and a first.

I'm actually a little optimistic. I keep hearing reports it's either Oilers, Sens or Rangers and nothing on the Canucks. If he was smart and wanted to develop ..he'd come here. If he wants to be developed like an idiot he'd choose the Oilers.

If you think Tallon would trade a 1st round pick... make it a 2nd and Garrison's rights.

EDIT: Bjugstad, a 2nd and Garrison's right.

Am I wrong? Forget the holier than thou speech. Do you see either of those two teams making the playoffs in the next 5 years. I have TOR dead last this upcoming year. Even if you did draft the #1 pick over all with Rielly ,I still don't see a playoff this year.
