I'm not going to bad mouth Garrison, however, MOST of those goals with that slap shot came in mid season. Campbell encouraged him to blast away when he got the puck..he finally did, and he was scoring. When it became common knowledge to the rest of the league that Garrison is blasting the puck from the blue line, his productivity went down. Of course add in the screens and deflections needed from his teammates to continue that success, but I'm saying, he caught many by surprise initially when he began to score, and that's now out of the bag. Good player, not 5 mil per worth. His defensive play is IMO ok, again, not top line $ worth. - PanthersGoal
I've read the same as what you've said. He's more of a defensive d-man and his offensive production will probably drop off. He's not worth more than 4 mil per, but 4.5 wouldn't be too crazy. Anything over that is an overpayment and bad value. MG definitely knows how to value players and as a former agent I completely trust him as one of the best when it comes to evaluating a player's worth and making the right offers during free agency. |

Supply and demand dictate the Garrison will get paid, where, who knows. I don't follow advanced stats, but what I was pointing out was that the guys who do think Garrison is a good gamble. Not that his goal totals are likely to continue the trend, they specifically note that this is an anomaly, but that his stats on quality of competition etc are favorable. I guess we'll see. - 1970vintage
Again, I'd top out at 4m and believe he would do that if he really wanted to be here. He can't be paid more than our top pairing tandem. That would create all sorts of issues. |

Do you think Gillis puts Garrison on the same level as Hamhuis/Bieksa? I say save the $ for Edler. - 1970vintage
I think Gillis does not get involved with overpayments of unproven players. |

If you believe what's written on "the twitter", Vancouver fans are already on par with Toronto fans for their manic behaviour. - 1970vintage
Yeah, it's embarrassing. Our fanbase likes to make fun of the TO fans but we have just as many clowns as they do so we can't really say much at this point. It's pathetic. |

I agree that 4M is a fair price for him. I have a feeling that a few teams will offer 4.5 or maybe even 5 though. |

EDIT - I'm going to an all day barbecue with a 20 litre keg of Phillips beer, I'll just make sure not to check what happened until I get home. - 1970vintage

Philly comes to mind as a team desperately searching for defensive depth. Edmonton may want to hammer another nail in our coffin as well. |

It's pretty obvious that most of the stuff being said about the kid is not an attempt at humour. CDC(Surprise) and Twitter is getting ugly right now. He's just a kid, lets move on.
So Luongo to Florida for....? |

I think Philly, NYI, CHI, DET, OTT, STL and of course the Canucks will have some serious interest. |

I would take a 3rd line C, and blue chip prospect either forward or d |

Yeah, we'll see. Maybe it will be Theodore and Clemmensen again and we'll have Schneider and Luongo again. |

I'd have no problem whatsoever with that. Net minding wasn't much of an issue for us, some more scoring, that's a different story. For that, a tweak somewhere in FA, or seeing what a healthy Upshall can do, and see what a young Huberdeau can do out of the gate. |

Let's say you are right, and Florida is in the drivers seat, what would be your offer? Where is the value for Vancouver? Why should they make that trade... |

You're right dude. Theodore is just as good as Luongo. Fortunately your GM has more hockey sense. |
