I have a hard time believing we couldn't have gotten a 2nd for PA. Good night all
- Cptmjl

Not saying we couldn't... it might have been possible.

But Garth took a chance to resign him up until today. If he trades him away... he can't negotiate with him.

Looks bad now... but if he would have signed him, everything would have been great!!!

Good night... Talk soon....

He would have been the property of another team.

Not trading him let the Isles to hold contract negotations up until today.

Actually I think the 4 years @ 4 million wasn't that bad.

It's too bad... I thought he would get a little more.

I thought they had good chemistry together.

Garth should have given him the money!!!

Aaaaa, no. Jagr started the season like a banshee. Hot and fast out of the gate But Jagr ran out of gas long before the season ended. I cant see him gaining any more energy this yr while being a yr older. IMO he's going to break down more often and start to struggle before New Years. This is his swan song and I dont believe it will be pretty.

What does that matter?
The Isles obviously had his right until 11:59 a.m. this morning and it didn't matter one bit.

FTR....I don't think his contract is that bad. Saying that...Colorado can have him.

Hell no.

Jiri Hudler.
Moulson-Tavares-Boyes
Grabner-Hudler-Okposo

Not ideal, but a much better top 6 than we've had.
I'd like to bullpoop you guys and say Boyes won't be on the top line, but you all know he will.

This might also be unpopular....I don't want any part of Salvador. I don't care what the contract is.

Why, just curious. Adding Salvador to the other 5 gives us the best defense we have had in 10 years

I just don't think he fits in. He's too old. He's very inconsistent. He's going to get a lot of money. The last reason is why we probably will sign him. I think adding Carkner and Visnovsky is all we really needed. I think Donovan or deHaan is on the team opening night. I really hope it's deHaan. i think Carkner adds the type of defenseman that nulls Salvador.
I'd like Kurtis Foster if we're going to for another UFA.

Eklund''s got us tied into Bouwmeester now, which means it probably won't happen, but I'd take J-Bo in a New York minute.

Also, salary would help get to the floor. Wouldn't mind this one bit, and is probably why he'd be rumored here in the first place. I think a draft pick is all it would take.

Very hard to believe. I'll take him or Salvador especially if it means we can trade a young dman in a package for a forward.

J-bow cannot say no to the Wolfpack. We are just too cool he wants to be part of it all.

with the team's uncertain future, no player will commit long term so the only players Garth can attract are players looking to make a comeback or something to prove. By the time the Isles get their poop in order, Parise will be retired.

Parise is already pissing me off. Just sign douche. Stop the BS.
- Cptmjl

I think Parise goes to Minnesota. Lou has probably been in his ear, and its whats making the decision hard for him. Either way, i think Parise ends up leaving Lou and NJ to start fresh in his hometown of minnesota.

thats pretty much my point. If the Islanders are going to have stars on their team it will be via trade (NTC's complicate matters).

I'm far from Bobby Ryan's biggest fan, but you've definitely got a point here.

Bobby Ryan is flat out stud, if isles some how aquired him,
the 1st line of JT-MM-BR would be flat out unstoppable

I think the isles realize this, and by evidence today are trying harder to improve team then they have in past years. The carkner signing was substantial in a sense because he had a bunch of offers and actually chose to come here.

I just don't think snow is going to sign a bad contract, or make an over payment via trade to get a guy here. It's sets a bad precedent going forward.
