Boyes on the first line is a bad idea. We had this same discussion about a guy named Rolston last year. |

I cannot blame the Isles if they did not want to pay that money. Make a strong offer for Ryan or another top 6 forward. - ses111

Amen. Isles have the pieces to make an impact move. Now is the time. Especially if they add another vet dman they will be able to move a young dman and a forward prospect or two. - ses111
Boyes will be solid probably. He wants to prove something and earn a contract. However, if it's the only guy you bring in, we would then be incredibly thin behind that first line. That is my bigger concern more so then the actual signing of boyes.
Neilson needs to be a 3rd line center. We currently are incredibly thin on NHL goal scorers. Okposo did score 24 last year and about all of them were after we were out of it |

They're talkin on the NHL network about how teams are gonna front load with Parise and Suter to the tune of 14 million the first year (maybe the second). Under this collective bargaining agreement, teams can pay 2 million in salary and 12 in bonus. 14 million a year is CRAZYY, so anyone with any hopes of the isles getting either of these two, it aint happenin. If top teams are willing to pay these guys 14 shmill the first two years, there's no way they would chose the isles. - kindlyrick
I was thinking Semin.
If not... try and trade for Ryan.... or someone of equal quality!!!
There's gotta be a trade out there for us.
Whoever signs Parise and Suter might have to make some cap room. |

refer to my sign Jokinen and Semin post!!!
Not sure what Snow and Co. have in store for Strome. I watch him play for the Ice Doggs and I've spoke to him a couple times and he really thinks he has a shot this season at cracking the lineup. If he does, I would think he's penciled in for the second line center slot.
Back to Jokinen and Semin, WHY NOT?!?!? Sign em and see what happens. - Mr.Black
Isles are out of semin probably unless he takes less money. |

That is FACT... im so sick of hearing how it was only because of JT that PAP played well. Its just not true.
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
Agreed, no matter what happens with PA he did his own thing it wasn't JUST bcs of JT. I honestly wasn't completely sold but to give him up for nothing was assinine to say the least. To not sign him for 4 million was ridiculously stupid with whats ojut there and the chemistry whatever it was with the team. |

Keep Okposo. Make it Nino, Bailey, De Haan and it is a good deal. I actually think Kyle will surprise us next year. |

Could not agree more. We are far from done. You cannot count on guys like KO and Bailey as they have not put it together for a full year. |

Maybe Strome can play on their wing!!!
Not very strong... that line would get beat up alot on the ice.

I think its gonna happen. I feel it. If we sign another "D" man. Then bank on a Big name forward coming to LI.

Did somebody offer a second rounder?
I didn't hear of any rumour of it.
I'm sure if they did, and Garth didn't take it... Botta would have been all over it!!! - jimmc7722
This is where you piss me off. If you think for a second a 2nd rounder wasn't offered for him you are wrong. The only problem is I can't prove it and you'll ask for a source and then I'll just say, "come on man ITS COMMON SENSE!!!!". |

Did PA say he was leaving during the season?
Or did he want to wait until after the season ended to discuss it.
Kinda like Nabby.
Plus you can't discuss a contract if the player is not on your team.
It goes both ways.
Garth offered him a contract.... PA wanted more money and a longer term.
PA was nothing before he got here.... and will be nothing more than a 50 point man maximum next year.
Tavares and Moulson made him alot of money today. - jimmc7722[/quote
I will try to remember you said that. Were'nt you one of the guys saying he wasn't leaving? |

The key will be if we can add a Salvator type tomorrow. You have a think a young dman would be going in a trade for a forward. He has not done anything yet but the Isles signed Jessie J again so that is someone else to use if a couple of forward go with a dman in a trade. |

I really hope people arent upset that PA Parentheau is not an islander. - kindlyrick
I am VERY upset he's not an Islander. He was not traded at the deadline... we lost an asset for NOTHING. That is unacceptable. We are in a rebuild.. our GM can NOT let assets walk away without getting SOMETHING... even a 7th round pick.... or a fringe prospect. He did the same thing with Konopka.. a player he had no intention of resigning... he also should have been moved... When you have a hard enough time getting players of talent to come to your team.. you can not let them walk away without leaving something behind.
A forth rounder for PAP & a Forth rounder for Zenon could have been converted into a third rounder or a better prospect... its just a big mistake by Snow.

He has been pretty consistent with his PA argument(not really an argument everyone agrees). It was a crap non move. As we all see and most with half a brain in their head saw from the beginning(except for the PA loves LI crowd, where are you?). |

Matt Larkin @THNMattLarkin
There were some good landing spots for Parenteau -- but I don't think COL was one. No matter who his center is, it's a downgrade from No. 91
