Salvador would be a great addition.......hope he signs on. Anyone else think Garth isnt done? Love to finally see a trade.

Boyes is the typical Snow move. Cheap talent with upside. Hope he plays like he did in St Louis, but hard to not feel like we've all seen this movie before.

Anything is better then nothing. Even a 2nd rd pick would have been better then NOTHING!! Its not like they were fighting for a playoff spot. No way to defend it. Not even the ones who bathe in Kool Aid can defend it

It's just crazy. We had the talent already and let it go. Could have been one less thing to worry about. No telling when Wang gets tired of the new toughness and we are in the same boat again. You get a sense Snow is spending his time fighting Wang on trying to make moves.

It really feels he is not done yet which is good. Especially if he brings in another dman I cannot help thinking a young one is going in a trade especially when all dmen were picked in the last draft.

There is no defense.........its like Garths learning as he goes. He should have gotten something for Parentheau. How many players test the market and actually come back?

I noticed this year that Garth didnt waste all of his time trying to land the top UFA's. Once the top guys go to the top teams, thats when players the isles would target get scooped up. Glad to finally see Garth get it done quickly, instead of the panic signings like years past.

It would be in Garth's best interest to really try to look into Matt Carle as well, a big-time minute eater. By locking a player of his calibre up, along with Salvador, the Isles could afford to trade a few defensive and offensive assets to the Ducks in exchange for Bobby Ryan. We could use a top-line winger like Ryan to play next to Tavares and Moulson. Obviously, if that isn't the case, I hope the Isles are still in on Jokinen, who could actually provide a great second-line center pivot for us.

Did somebody offer a second rounder?

I didn't hear of any rumour of it.

I'm sure if they did, and Garth didn't take it... Botta would have been all over it!!!

The rumor now is Bryce Salvador. One of the guys I mentioned at the end of last season.

With all the "D" we have been acquiring. And with "D" in such high demand. I can see something brewing on the Trade front in the near future.

Use our assets to strengthen our weak areas. Its coming. Finally this yr. After all the waiting. All the suffering. I think its finally coming. A BIG TRADE for a VG forward.

Exactly right. I give Garth points for signing guys on day 1 this year. If Isles want to make an offer to the top guys fine just do not wait around you lose out on the guys you actually have a shot signing.

I'm going to chime in,

I think PAP is a good talent (50-60 pt/year) player but I think he's the kind of player that just feeds off the players around him as apposed to leading an offense. In saying that, I don't think he surpasses 50 points in Colorado. He doesn't have the linemates to help him. He'll be looked upon more as an offense generator where he's the opposite.

Let's hope he is Jason Blake. I think he will still be productive. I would not have ripped Garth if he traded him. PA did not want to sign before the deadline so he needed to go.

I had the same thought. I'm trying very hard not to think about getting Ryan. You and SCLI are killing me.

I think what it really boils down to, is that Garth Snow has tried to do things professionally (making a name for himself in the GM world). They never tanked at the end of the season for the possibility of a better draft pick (which i might not have agreed with), they dont make offer sheets to RFA's. Garth doesnt address trades or trade discussions in the media. Lastly, he's never given up on a season by trading away players at the deadline. That all said, noone actually thought this team was making the playoffs the day of the trade deadline.........they shoulda sent PA packin.

Anytime a player says they're gonna test the market, that translates to, "im gonna see who's gonna pay me the most".........which wasnt gonna be the isles. Once that was said, he should have been outta here.

That was the neon sign that Garth missed. Hopefully Garth learned his lesson and let's hope PA does not end up burning the Isles.
