As for us, Carkner is a goon who can actually play some, which we need- it's just that I hate my d-men in the box for five minutes at a time. It'd be better if HE was a winger, but then we'd still need a defenseman. I also don't know how much he has left in the tank. Also, Boyes for one year for that salary isn't bad....what's the worst that could happen- we could give Strome another year in junior?

I like the Carkner signing alot, bc he brings toughness, an I agree with your assestment that we do need a W who can do the same also. Boyes is ok, not sold, an would like Isles to bring in Allen for D also.

Would want Strome another yr in juniors, actually I want all the kids in Bridgeport or thier respected junior teams, no kids on the NHL level yet/start of the season. want them to gell together in Bridgeport 1st, an have some decent veterans teaching the kids that are on the Isles now... if we keep adding kids, to our NHL team of kids, we are not improving in a proper manner,

Garth is making Defense his thing this year...like it alot...but we need some extra bunch up front..lots still there.

Boyes is nice low risk gamble. he finds his 30 goal form playing with tavares and we in business. its 1MM for 1 year.

carkner was nice d signing. give us some much needed toughness. If you dont think he tough as former islanders Jackman, He broke his orbital bone with one punch. It was a cheap shot thought.

But Carkner is a feared man in the league, and he can play. fills in that 6th spot on defense nicely.

Believe it or not I'd take Haley over Asham. Kid can kick ass and with the right coach who lets him play his game he can score. Thankfully I don't think Toterella is that right coach I was referring too
