who knows? That's kinda the cool part about this though. He is a free, inexpensive experiment that comes with almost no risk. If he turns out to be a bust, then so be it. Just trade the guy that you gave up nothing for and get a few assets in return. If he turns out to be the next Lidstrom, then great!

I hear you. I just love when these kids demand PP time and one way contracts when they never played in the NHL. It's ridiculous. Usually doesn't work out. I hope the kid turns into a star but how about earning it like most in the NHL have? Whatever, his agent worked enough BS to get this kid a big payday, good for him.

Actually I think Vancouver was ranked 5th in the world for Quality of living in the 2011 Mercer Report.

Toronto and Ottawa were 14th and 15th

Montreal was 22nd

Ranked 5th in the world by a Canadian.. shocking. Means nothing. I have spent time living in Austria and Sweden and I can think of 5 better cities in those 2 countries alone.

I don't think anyone would argue that, but the kid is probably too young to really remember most of the Oiler greats and their dynasty team in the 80's. Also, I'm sure Gillis is going to ask Linden(who is a hero to all Canuck fans and one of the classiest and nicest players to ever play in the NHL) to call him anyways and the Canucks will definitely not guarantee him a top 4 spot on the team.
