He's headed to the market. If PA was coming back on a reasonable salary he woulda already resigned.

I have lot's of friends that are Isles fans. Would like to see them do well, but I think it's up to Garth to get creative and make a substantial move to help the current roster.

Why would the Stanley Cup champs trade Bernier? Who backs up Quick and plays 25 games or so?
- yaknow88

Im sure its not the team that wants the trade. Its him. Cant blame him though, If you had the skill to be a starter would you wana play backup for ten years? As for your other question I dont know. Jones and Zatkoff (sp) are still too green.

Connolly is really that bad? Is Kadri going to make your team? I think Leafs are a playoff team next year.
- yaknow88

Connolly is that bad... and yes Kadri will get a good long look this year..

As for the last part, if somethings done for the goaltending and a couple more moves made up front...well see haha. Nice of you to say though haha

Connnolly lacks intensity..that's my biggest problem with him.

I think Kadri could make the team, but i think he(and others) should be moved to get bigger and tougher up front.

No playoffs unless we make 4-5 good moves in trades or FA, IMO.

4-5? Thats asking for a lot lol. Maybe im just used to being an Islanders fan. If 2 moves are made its like winning the cup.

Obviously goaltending is key, and it was certainly realized after watching Jonathan Quick literally steal games this regular season when we were lucky to score even one single goal. I thought Riemer had potential. Don't know much about the AHL guy. When the Kings played Leafs earlier this year(late jan or early feb I think), and Brown scored the shootout winner, I believe they were tied in points.

You sound exactly like my friends that are Isles fans. They've been patient and like some of the prospects, but want to see any sign of hope whether it's a good signing or trade, or more importantly better news on the arena front. Really impressed by Hamonic. Didn't know he was this good on both ends of the ice.

4-5 is alot, 2 would do the trick, a legit goalie and a #1 centre haha (that too much to ask? haha). If the Leafs can add another Top 6 power forward, and improve the goaltending they should be in the 6-10 mix... But leadership needs to be improved, big reason they were in playoffs at all star break and fell hard after, no real leadership.. that and losing Lupul

He's been an absolute delight to watch. Great draft pick. I took a picture with him and Matt Martin in the Marriott across the street from the coliseum. Hamonics hands are like damn meat hooks haha. Guy is ripped.

If the Isles could pull Dustin Brown outa there, I would be doing jumping jacks. Guy has the leadership role and great intensity. Isles need a guy like that. It would be awesome to have Dustin as captain competing against a similiar rival captain in Callahan on the Rags. They both arent the flashiest guys, they supply leadership and do the dirty work.

I wouldnt go as far to say that. FA signings have bolted...but since the rebuild started most draft picks have stayed and signed extentions...

JT, grabner(non draft pick), Bailey, Nielsen twice, Moulson (non draft pick) Hamonic will, macdonald,

Two years ago my buddy and I argued over who is better Okposo or Brown. We thought they were very similar. I thought Okposo would be your Dustin Brown, but he's been a disappointment thus far and isn't as physical as I thought he would be. I do think Josh Bailey is sitting on a big year for you guys.

thats so freakin funny. i had the same argument except it was about okposo and callahan and I said Okposo is gonna tear cally apart. I have been proven seriously wrong lol. Ever since the injury okposo hasent been the same, although he looked phenomenal at the end of the season. If he plays like that for 90% of the season, he's looking at a 70 point year, 30+ goals.

I miss hockey like that...amazing series...dirty, cheap bloody hockey...tucker on peca, steve webb being a beast at home and invisible on road...the kick or headbutt with shayne corson.. Awesome series. I think about those Leafs. Roberts, Tucker, Corson, Domi, Mccabe was a beast with the can openers.. Those teams were nasty. Funny because thats the kind of team Burke would want, but hasnt built towards yet

I watch Game 4 atleast twice a year. Still upset that series was lost. Shawn Bates penalty shot is a glimmer of light in a very dark 2 decades.

I always loved Okposo and hoped the Kings would try to acquire him. Good luck this season and hopefully get that new arena. I tell people all the time of the Islanders underrated fan base. Lot's of passionate fans that deserve better.

Youre right, Garth has done a good job with that. The problem is most would only be RFA and not UFA, so they sign up till they can become UFA.. Well see what happens then. Moulson would be insane to leave JT. If JT leaves as UFA especially with all the uncertainty with the building and all that...it could be the end of the NYI

We really do have a great fan base when the team performs. Im glad u have some sympathy for us i appreciate it lol. I saw an article saying we have a terrible non loyal fan base which i do not think is true. I wanna say we have been through hell and back, but sadly, we havent been "back" yet we're still in hell lol
