I find that hard to believe too. - Gunner Staal
Probably because Crosby was out hurt most of the year. My guess. |

What would that have to do with anything though? They still sold out all their games, Im sure merchandise sales werent slowed by that. I think they are the top road draw (at least top 5) as well. |

You have no idea. I know how the student population changed from last year (Crosby's hot streak around christmas) to this year. When Crosby was hot his stuff was flying off shelves. This year it was more of ehh who cares about hockey untill crosby's frist game back. |

Right. Doesn't matter if Sid played or not. The vast majority of their revenue will always be ticket sales. When you say road draw... You're not saying they get a percentage of road ticket sales...right? I don't think that happens in the NHL.
Who knows if those numbers are truly accurate, but It's long been known around the burgh that the Pens always count on at least two playoff series in budgeting.
If the numbers are accurate. The most alarming fact I saw was 18 teams lost money. No wonder the owners want to change the percentage of revenues. Can you say lockout.

No not at all. I am saying if they are that popular on the road, that means they probably have more fans outside of the Pittsburgh area buying Pittsburgh merchandise, which equals more $$$. More exposure leads to better TV deals and better advertising dollars as well. |

Maybe the air traffic controller and pilot will both be Pens fans and keep you in the loop. |

wow...how luck would that be?lol
Paris is awessome. Even better when you're taking your lady with you. Didn't have a chance to take mine but went with my brother and my cousin so it wasn't that bad as you're free to get wasted. Buy some snacks, a bottle (or two haha) of wine and go to Eiffel Tower.
I will be disapointed if we don't land Parise or Doan..

Actually I think it is a pretty funny and clever dig at the kid considering he spurned the Ducks.
John Buccigross @Buccigross
Could be some big NHL news today. Stay tuned NY Rangers fans
Hopefully its the Rangers gutting their youth for Rick Nash. |

I actually got a good laugh from Maddens tweet about his contract, it's true.
“@MarkMaddenX: @pghpenguins It might as well be worth a billion dollars at the NHL level. He's a career AHL guy.” |

Toronto reportedly has bought out the contract of former Penguins RW Colby Armstrong.
I'd want him back for our 3rd line! Do it Shero! |

Colby Armstrong is being bought out by TOR. Will be on unconditional waivers at 12 noon ET.
What "unconditional waivers" mean? Do we have to take back any part of his previous salary?
If not come home Army20! |

Well I guess that's the answer
Dave Molinari @MolinariPG
As noted by @TSNBobMcKenzie, Colby Armstrong must clear waivers before his buyout takes effect.
This means that maybe he'll be claimed by some other team way bellow the cap...

We all love Colby but if there is one thing the Penguins have in spades, it is 3rd line wingers.
More importantly a good signing to report:
Josh Yohe @JoshYohe_Trib
Niskanen gets two years and 4.6 million. |

As expected. Nice deal for both parts.
As for Army, I'd take him for U$1mil. for our third line as long as we trade TK.
Cooke - Sutter - Armstrong sounds really good as a shutdown line. |

Well if it's a matter of something to play for...
Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Quick chat with Colby Armstrong. He's staying positive. Has had bad luck with injuries. Says he has tons of game and wants chance to prove it
Army would be going back home...he never wanted to leave in the first place. |

It would be a sentimental move more than a hockey one, unless he is a 4th liner on the cheap. |

Just checked my twitter...I was about to post this one here lol
This is good news I guess. If we land Suter OR Weber (who knows?), Martin will be a predator for sure.
