I'd say Lamoriello is one damn good negotiator. I think they could all make their case for 1 million. - _Zippy_
well carter had 8 points in regular season, bernier 6, gionta 1. id say they were headed for league minimum before the playoffs and their good playoffs boosted them to the 750 range and we still dont know what gionta is gonna get. regular season counts to in what players get in salary |

On the last part, he's a dad.
I'd be pissed at my wife if I had to pay her 500k a year too. - _Zippy_
haha true, but he is a pro hockey player who makes millions of dollars and cant get his kid a $3 roll of tape before his game? then proceed to not even watch him. the mother is very nice and loves those kids to death, it sickens me every time marty kisses his kids initials on the back of his helmet before a game.
EDIT: he watches for maybe 5 minutes then goes and sits outside |

How old is his kids?
I know there's times where I can't stand watching my littler brother's games because the kids in that league are so (frank)ing retarded. If the kids are like teenagers, then the hockey is fun to watch and then he's a douche. |

tg said that the devils can fit brodeur and parise in their budget so its a question of if they want to stay here and well i don't see them leaving
parise will see offers but will still sign and brodeur will come after that

How many years on Carter?
EDIT: Never mind, found it.
Two years for the entire fourth line. NICE. That could be a massive bargain. - _Zippy_
thats what i was hoping for. glad we got it done. they're a good bunch and definitely an asset for this team. All 3 of them are able to spot other lines too in case of injury. |

you're making assumptions and generalizations based on this 1 instance. My dad has been super hard on me and my siblings at times, but he loves us to death. Maybe Marty was having a bad day, maybe stuff was going on, etc etc. I'm sure he loves his kids, as most fathers do/should. You're taking this way too far. |

I don't think its fair to judge someone off 2 instances that are really nothing more than something some guys friend said. I'm not going to try and convince you marty's a role model or a classy individual, but I don't think we should judge what he's done with his family, especially since you've been the only person to have said this. I've had friends see him at his sons games too, and none have mentioned it. |

i worked at the rink his kids played at, floyd hall in montclair, same thing every week. he obviously couldnt show up to all the games because of the nhl schedule, but when he did youd think he would want to watch them play. no he'd rather go sit outside. yes i do know what i talking about to the person who asked if i was just making this up. and it was more than one instance, that was just one i said always stuck out in my mind
EDIT: age doesnt matter to whoever asked. it is HIS kids, he should want to watch them play, especially when he cant make all the games because of his schedule |

he showed in the post season when he really wants to put it all on the line he can be effective. he just needs to be consistent |

It'll be interesting to see what he gets. He's a huge risk but its a weak free agent class. He offers a unique skill set but it comes with a good amount of baggage. |

He is a big ass mother(frank)er though.
He's huge, even compared to our biggest player. For that reason alone, you can throw him on your third line or give him first line minutes when he's playing well. It would be interesting to see what he could do with Kovalchuk.
I'd say 1 year 3.5 million or so, but I guess the only way this would happen is no ZP. |
