The one contender out there who needs a goalie is CHI. Predict they go hard after Brodeur, deal R.Emery, N.Hjalmarsson for cap space.
- mrpaulish
And in typical Hawk fashion this would be the year that Brodeur completely falls apart...

Will have to look but I probably stiill have the 45 RPM of that in a box right under the 'I Can't Get No Satisfaction' one.
Speaking of dated - walked into Kenesky's in Hamilton last week - blast from the past. B&W Pictiues of old Frank Kenesky fitting Terry Sawchuk for new goalie pads. You know the old kind of pads stuffed with horsehair. |

@TSNBobMcKenzie: COL agrees to terms with Steve Downie on 2 year deal, $2.55M in first year and $2.75M in second. $2.65M AAV.
It's gonna be slim pickings on Sunday - captainserious

If the Caps could get two 1st round picks from Colorado for Varlamov, I'd have to think that's a good place to start, and possibly end.
I'm thinking Saad, Emery, and a 1st for Bernier.

I just don't think the Hawks are going to be giving up Saad for Bernier..I see Saad going for Nash, and or another big name player, obviously Saad would be just one piece a big package..I think the team is very high on Danault and Saad, and I only see those two getting traded as part of a package for a big time player, but all other prospects could be game |

Don't think Saad will be going anywhere - he's Bowman's prized possession from last year's draft. |

For what it's worth, I'm pretty high on Danault myself.
If I'm Bowman, and it comes down to Saad being the piece that gets a deal for Bernier done, I'm doing it. |

What does Danault project as in your eyes? Would he be the forward you would keep out of the group? |

I wouldn't doubt that you're right Rick. I'd believe it. With him announcing Bowman's first pick and the draft and all.
Bowman pulls that kid around like he's his pet goat on a rope.
Who knows, maybe Bowman is just doing that to up Saad's trade value? |

I'm with you, buuuuut I don't think Hawks management would do it..Especially since they had him up their selecting their 1st round pick, but you never know...I think the Hawks deal Stalberg now or at the trade deadline..Depending on how Saad develops, but if they think they Saad can replace Stalberg,I see them moving Slick Vik |

Are Saad and Denault contributing pieces on the next SC championship team here - or by the time they get here, will the window on this team be closed? |

The little that I saw of him, he reminds me of Bolland. I think he could take Bolland's spot in '13-'14, if he's ready. |

Well a better relationship might correlate to a better effort on the ice. But it still is disappointing because of the picture painted for the kids in city who look up to them believing they are best friends when really thats not the case. - nickmo2699
No... It's like real life where you may not particularly like some people you work with but sometimes you have to swallow the pill and make it work and be civil anyways.
I actually think that is better for kids as it shows how to deal with a not "perfect" work environment and still be successful. Or give them the inspiration needed to deal with prima donnas and crazy parents that may be plaguing their youth team in a positive way. |

As a self-diagnosed CC lover. I dont think Bernier is going to fix any problems. Our defensive structure and coverage is the problem. Too many mistakes in our own zone, lack of physicality, poor coverage is going to be trouble for any goalie..JMO |

Can someone tell me why we're looking to get rid of hammer again? Dollar for dollar, and taking into account what else we're giving up, do we honestly think we're gonna get a better d-man for him? I'd rather have hammer and Garrison or Carle for 8 rather than one Suter at 7, and then go scrambling to find a third pair guy like we did last year. |
