I think we have this all wrong.

The hawks are going to make inquiries and set up deals continent upon "another deal" they are making..two days after UFA starts if they know they are getting a large salaried UFA, before announcing the signed player deal is done, they will THEN announce the trades that are roster slimmers.
When it comes to trading a top four
defenseman, I am sure there are enough teams who will patiently wait (because they are getting the better player).

I don't think that some teams are going to say,
"NO, Stan.
We can't wait to see if hammer IS going to be traded.
Now or never/"

Jet lag is a biaatch! 5:25 am and I've been awake for an hour.
I don't see a change in goal. I'd love to see moving Frolik, Montador, and Hammer either in trade or to the Hogs and getting Suter, Smith from OTT and signing Doan, Hannan and Brett Clarke or Shane O'Brien. Winnik would be nice on the third line as well, though Olesz may play if there is cap room, it seems.

Me, too. I think a lot of gm's are afrad of getting ripped off so they keep holding out hoping for better offers. All it takes is 1 major trade to start it all. Now with news that Suter won't even decide for a few days, it might be a real slow sunday. I feel bad for the tsn panel on sunday. Lol

These rumours are like religion. We need good stories even if they aren´t true. Just bring us rumours and that´ll feed our expectations. And when in real life nothing happens we become angry and desperate.

Look, this team doesn´t have to make many major moves to be better. There is no desperate need for Nash, Suter or Parise. Our core is good enough it´s the bottom that needs to be deeper and is much easier to get. Well maybe goaltender too but let´s wait and see. There is no need to be so angry. Last time I checked season starts in october (If it does)?

hahaha. What we need is the Hawks to get better . Ive got two options that Ive been hanging onto for hope :

Option A :

Hawks trade Hammer for Zak Smith

Hawks then sign Suter.

Bolland moves up to #2 Center


Option B: (Which Ive slept on now and kinda like better )

Hawks don't trade Hammer.

Hawks sign Doan

Hawks sign Marty B.

Hawks dump Crawford somewhere , anywhere.

Hawks are now better in net , and scary good top 6.

We'll see I guess.

There is no guarentee that big splash will make the resurts any better. I think we need to get bigger, nastier and deeper from the bottom, and of course better goaltending. Not to mention special teams. Yes, there is a lot to do but foundation is solid enough it´s just a matter of little tuning into the right direction.

The problem is, this "foundation" has been the same for the past 2 failed years. All the 'Hawks have done is rotate in and out different bit pieces. No one here seems to be asking or hoping for the team to be blown completely up, but the 'Hawks need to make some moves to stay competitive. Another 1st round loss (or worse) this coming season isn't going to be acceptable.

And two years ago they won the cup with the same foundation. There are no guarantees. Everyone is going to get better that´s for sure and that is why Stan should be awake. But there are a lot of good teams with size, grit and great goalies that haven´t won anything. I sure Bowman and the hole crew is trying their best to bring a winning team back but so is almost everyone else. It´s a tough league and winning the cup might be the hardest thing to do in all pro sports together. Maybe if this was like in Play Station..
