I want to read this as, the Semin signing is unlikely, and just as unlikely is Doan. But how I read this is Semin won't happen, they're gonna sign Doan. hahaha. JK, but I'm a chicago sports fan, its the time of the year I have faith. - HawksHype
Slow down...
What I wrote was there is a better chance of a Doan signing than Semin.
I don't have a Doan to the Hawks rumor.

I'll answer with what Al will say. That would be a total diversion from the Det/Bowman model and would be a major surprise. I agree with him and don't think it'll happen |

That's seems to be the story going around...I don't know if the Bowman's will pay a goalie $5 mill per...My guess is no. |

I wouldn't pay Brodeur $5 mil....wishful thinking on my part...but since he's financially set, i'd hope he'd settle for less to be part of a young, vibrant club. But if he's greedy...no worries....Mac Carruth is standing by

I know, I was just playing. I was bored at work and was trying to waste time. It was my first excitement of the day. Trust me, I honestly dont think Doan will end up with the Hawks. |

I think part of this involves moving Crawford and his $2.75 mil so they would possibly be paying an extra $2.75 to $3mil to upgrade the position with a world class goalie who unlike Crawford is capable of the occasional goalie win. Suter is probably the first option but if SB can't sign him maybe this is something to think about. As I mentioned before the defense gets a bit better with Brodeur in goal and maybe with not spending the money on Suter they can sign Doan as well. |

It's a tough scenario....i loved C2 in his true rookie year and he continued to shine early in his sophomore year and then....THE WHEELS FELL OFF. Crow is still relatively young while Brodeur is arguably on vapor. Do you give up on a homegrown kid with gas in the tank for a proven champion who is on borrowed time ? I'd love to see Brodeur with us for a year or two, but i am wary of giving up on Crawford this early. Glad i'm not the GOLDEN DUMMY. |

Al,
Even if Corey is traded and it's 1 year 5million dollar deal? That would be like getting Marty for 2.75mil. After next year he could be gone and so would CC's 2.5mil for 2013-2014. I know Stan and Scotty don't like paying a goalie. I do think they like to win. Marty could give the Hawks just what they need next year with a couple other additions. Just a thought. |

Yeah that would be a good deal for the Hawks. I don't see it, either. I still like what ottawa is offering for Nash. I heard they might be out of the Nash sweepstakes. I would like guys like Ziba, Foligno, Smith and a goalie. We would have to add to Kane and Hammer |

To win a cup you can give up just about anyone. The Hawks won in 2010 and had to give up a lot af key players after the fact. This would be just doing it before. Same outcome possibly. |

That's one way of looking at but it is still a $5 mill hit for one player which could eliminate another signing.
One story going around has Crawford staying....??? |

Jet lag is a biaatch! 5:25 am and I've been awake for an hour.
I don't see a change in goal. I'd love to see moving Frolik, Montador, and Hammer either in trade or to the Hogs and getting Suter, Smith from OTT and signing Doan, Hannan and Brett Clarke or Shane O'Brien. Winnik would be nice on the third line as well, though Olesz may play if there is cap room, it seems.
Spain's gonna beat Italy, BTW!!! |

As bad as we think the Hawks suits are, SB, McD and Q are not as bad as their Bulls counterparts in one respect:
Between Gar-Pax and Thibs, those are 3 of the least attractive men in one group anywhere. |
