"As for Ryan Suter, his agent, Neil Sheehy, will be in International Falls fielding phone calls while his client is at his farm in Wisconsin. Teams won't be meeting face-to-face with Suter on July 1, although at some point Suter may meet with some teams. It sounds like a Suter decision could take a few days or longer."

And the wait will continue...

Or perhaps Suter knows where he wants to go and it's all about $ adding up. I have to think he'll give the Preds the right of refusal before signing anywhere, but I have to suspect that some $ figures have been thrown around. My take is that the guy knows what he wants to do already.

I'm with you, buuuuut I don't think Hawks management would do it..Especially since they had him up their selecting their 1st round pick, but you never know...I think the Hawks deal Stalberg now or at the trade deadline..Depending on how Saad develops, but if they think they Saad can replace Stalberg,I see them moving Slick Vik
- captainserious

Stalberg and 2014 1st rd pick for Bernier?? Also, NJ may want to deal Volchenkov since he has four more years left at $4.25M per. Crawford, Hjalmarsson, and Frolik for Volchenkov and Clarkson?? (Hawks were high on Clarkson, and he will be UFA after next year). Hjalmarsson is less costly than Volchenkov, Crawford gives them a starting goalie, and Frolik is the type of reclamation project Lou likes to take on, (plus Lou likes his Czechs)!!

You may as well throw Emery in. The Kings don't have anyone in the system that can step up and back up Quick. They'll need him too.

#Canucks sign Sami Salo, 1 year deal worth around $1.75M.

I don't know how true this is...

We could restart talks on how Stalberg, and Frolik might land the Hawks (Enter All-Star the Hawks don't have a shot of getting here)

Jonathan Toews is back in town looking tan, relaxed and healthy.

The Blackhawks' captain has spent much of the offseason getting away from it all in his native Canada, doing some fishing and working out in preparation for the 2012-13 season.

The 24-year-old said he has no lingering effects from a concussion that caused him to miss the final 22 games of the regular season and had him working into game shape during the Hawks' first-round playoff loss to the Coyotes.

"I feel great," said Toews, who attended a meeting with the National Hockey League Players Association executive board Monday at a downtown hotel. "I'm having a great summer so far. It was a pretty nerve-wracking thing (but) taking the time off and not going to the World Championships was really big. I haven't felt or seen anything since so it's good news."

In addition to his health, Toews also addressed the subject of teammate Patrick Kane, who had an eventful start to the offseason when he showed up in pictures on the Internet apparently intoxicated at a block party in Madison, Wis., on Cinco de Mayo. Toews — Kane's roommate during road trips — said he has exchanged texts with Kane to let him know the team supports him.

"He has been through some tough things," Toews said. "I'm sure he's being very hard on himself right now and (I told him) to just to hang in there. With time it will go away again and he'll be able to focus on hockey.

"There's no doubt 'Kaner' has that personality that people are kind of drawn toward him. People want to get to know him off the ice and they want to see what he's like. The next thing you know you're under a microscope. I know it's tough on him."

Like new: Defenseman Steve Montador said he has recovered from a concussion that caused him to miss most of the final two months of the season and the playoffs.

"I'm feeling much better," the veteran said. "I met with some good people and got some treatment. A little bit of time does help too. Moving forward I feel there are no issues."

Montador, 32, said "there are some concerns" because he has had previous concussions, but said he's good to go for training camp in September.

"I feel like a whole new man," Montador said. "I'm as excited to get this season started as any other, if not more so just because I feel like I'm clear and healthy more than I've been in years. That's really exciting for me."

Looks like Monty is good to go. Hopefully he realizes that he was wearing clown shoes last year and leaves them at home this year.

BTW, what's with the forum view?

I´m from the same land that Teuvo Teravainen is and that´s Finland. I will keep my eyes on him next season very closely and maybe share some reports here?

$$$$

I can even see, remote fantasy possibility, the Hawks dealing Crawford to NJ (maybe for Brodeur's rights+) and signing Brodeur for 1-2 years.

- John Jaeckel

That's not all that crazy especially if Brodeur won't ask for the sky and the Kings won't deal Bernier within the West. The 'Hawks can get an upgrade in net, but they'd have to budget a little smarter on the skaters since Brodeur would cost quite a bit more than CC.
