he is a good puck mover, all star, would be a great pick up for the Flyers given how their current D men and Kimmo nearing his finale - Marc D
Definitely. They have 3-4 heavy hitters now. If Carle walks that really weakens the picking moving ability of the defense. by that the current players can't do it, but it's not their forte, aside from timonen. |

Carchidi is nucking futs. Most of his tweets are of the effing ridiculous variety. Its amazing anyone takes anything he says seriously when it comes to the Flyers. Even more amazing that anyone asks for his opinion.

i'd rather have jagr back for another year
but i'll take doan on a two year deal - FlyerMike18
Flyers fans would love Doan. I would even be willing to give him a third year. |

That would have been clever! |

I don't doubt that actually. Just when I was ready to right off big names Sam stirs the pot. It's impossible to me how they could sign 1 of the big 2, let alone multiple pieces.

Call it a day and keep yourself in play for the big names next year. Aside from Weber, theres some large names that could be available, ie. Iginla - aosplayo
Would you settle for Jagr, 6/7 dman, Leighton. Cause I think it's heading down that road |

G and Hartnell have really played well together, especially the later the season got into. I see no reason why Hartnell can't get 37 goals again, hell I can see him getting 40. He was sniping. The play where G passed from the half board for Hartnell to one time was money 75 percent of the time. I don't see the need for a top flight winger really. If you can get Doan, do it. But They should go after Garrison and a 4th liner. |

i can't say the third year would be a deal breaker, i also would probably be willing to give him 3. just saying two would be ideal. i'm a bit worried (even though i'm sure they'll get it done) about two summers from now when giroux, schenn, and couturier all need new deals. probably no sense in getting too worked up over that right now though
and i agree that he'd be a hit. i'm a big doan fan, it would be cool to see him in orange and black |

Well not that I could do anything about it, Id still show up opening night ready to cheer them on. I dont want Jagr back at his age, but its not the end of the world.

He is crazy. The Flyers won't get either Suter or Parise. |

I would prefer two yrs as well, but you might have to sweeten the pot a little to get him. I think Doan has plenty left in the tank. I would love the move if they got Doan |

I see your point. I think he would be an instant fan favorite, and would play really well |

Kind of reminds me of last year when everyone said the flyers would have trouble making up for all that offense they traded away. Seems to me that they still have 3 dmen that can move the puck in Timonen, Meszaros and Coburn
edit:
Bourdon showed a little offensive potential last year too |

But is Schenn a good replacement for Carle? Couldn't they have found other ways to replace Carle if all they we're going to do to replace him was acquire a young defenseman? I understand the upside there, but that seems like an odd choice to replace Carle. - funmaster18
exactly...not really covering yourself w/ the schenn acquisition. |

None of them can pass the puck
Flyers haven't even scored (other than the pp) when Carle isn't in the lineup.
Carle also is a great baker, changes his own oil, hands out Turkeys at Thanksgiving, and has magical powers. |

Talbot loves his muffins!
Edit: I wish one of his magical powers was getting the puck to the net from the point, and not having his shot blocked like he is Spudd Webb trying to post up Shaq. |

Problem is we struggled defensively last year with all of the injuries. If Carle walks, and then a top 4 guy goes out, you're looking pretty young and thin on the blue line. |

Schenn could turn out to be a great player, but he's not the right guy to replace Carle. Other possibility is they are still hoping to get someone else or they feel some guys are ready to assume more responsibility this year. |
