I think both teams have a very similar fan base.... both have lots of seats owned by large companies... high ticket prices... making it difficult for many true fans to attend games.

The passion riots that ensued last year should prove how dedicated these canucks fans are!! So much PASSION!

I think it proves that utter disappointment, alcohol, and a few idiots are not a good mix. I'm sure a few decent fans got carried away in that mess out of passion, but it was idiots who started it, and I don't take the riots as any indication of a passionate fanbase. I think the passionate ones were too distraught to riot.

Theodore was amazing last season and in the playoffs for us. I'd rather re sign Garrison and say no to Luongo. Sign a top six forward bring up Petrovic and Huberdeau and win the SE again.

both sides need to meet in the middle. nucks could and should stay with the combo if the market is terrible... it might change by the deadline... but a top 6 and prospects? I'd say a valuable roleplayer type and a 2nd rounder. someone to replace torres and a 2013 2nd in a projected good draft year... should be fair. maybe a b prospect as well... but expecting more is unreasonable

i'd offer 3.5 max and if he wants more, thank him for listening and wish him well. 1 good year = 5m? i'm thinking i'd rather keep the money than take that big a risk.

canucks will not be well served by adding another 5m dman that doesn't appreciably make their d corps better.
