Not sure but I thought his symptoms were from a neck injury. - Dwight K. Schrute
they were. but I don't see this as Crosby taking a discount. If anything it was a 1mil discount. He's getting tons of money being that its front loaded. The statement just seems off-base to me. |

14 mil would be the max per year. you can't build a team with 1 player taking up 1/5th of your cap. Maybe NYI would do it, but I can't see any team having the space or lack of sense to do such a thing. OV at 9.5 is high, Staal at 8.25 is high, then theres a group in the 7-8 range. so you have 9 guys in 7-8, 3 other players between 8-9.5, and someone's gona give him 14?? .. for 12 years?? for 10 years?? With the substantial chance he could get re-injured and be out permanently? I just don't see it.
i'd be surprised if a team did it simply to bring relevance and marketing to their franchise.. maybe NYI, Columbus.. but idk.
i still don't think its much of a pay cut. if he had no chronic head trauma then it would be a different story, but even with that.. i'd be giving him a cap hit no more than 10. Theres no logic behind the "arguably" best player in the world getting 4-5 mil more than other forwards that are in that discussion. 4-5mil!
Yes, revenue and such, but other great players do the same for their teams- OV, Stamkos, Malkin would if he was on any other team besides Wash/Tampa. I can't wait to see what the new contract will be for Giroux. Probably 7+ per season. |

Ov hasn't done that for a few years, Stamkos still isn't near the complete player that Crosby is, and Malkin, if I'm not mistaken, has an 8.7 cap hit also. |

I dislike crosby no matter how much he has cut back from whining and complaining to the refs also last time i looked into it ovie has a higher ppg avg then crosby - blizzzard
Crosby has a 1.4 ppg, Ovie is at around 1.2 ppg |

I don't care as. Much about other teams I just want to focus on our team and improving it when possible and knowing we will be competitive year in and year out

According to strickland, Bernier has asked to be moved. Wouldn't mind making a move for him but I don't know if we could match what chicago has to offer. |

I think that's over valuing him some. Maybe a package of teddy, urbom/gelinas + 2nd rounder. I dont see Lou giving up merrill |

A bit much as of now. Varlamov was more proven, and got a 1st and 2nd in return which was seen as an overpayment by the Avs. |

He could have demanded $14 million per season. Took a massive discount in my opinion. Best player in the world for $8.7 million is a bargain. |

True, maybe a roster D, one of those prospects and a second. I'm not familiar with their contracts on D outside of Doughty's monster deal. |

Thank you Adrian Peterson for that crazy thought. Pretty sure slaves did not get pensions, healthcare, workout facilities and other programs that sports leagues have to help with transition after their playing days are done. If a player can not put some of the minumum salaries they make which are anywhere from 250-500k then they are freakin stupid. Also I don't think the owners whip the players after a loss, but you never know. - Dwight K. Schrute
Plus, slaves generally don't have a career choice. Athletes choose to be athletes. |
