by far the single dumbest arguement

other than kadri's year.. the picks are just leaving junior

and this is the first REALISTIC year (realism seems to not have a home around these boards) that you can expect guys from Kadri's draft year to seriously compete for NHL jobs.

stop the whol draft pick nonsense.. your entire argument is based on a fraction of a percent of drafted players in the league since burke took over the leafs

The cupboard is being filled, we still have one empty cupboard waiting for some centres but all in all, it's getting there.

but...the Leafs have some real assets they could *afford* to move to get said centerman

Id rather just draught a centerman and get a goalie right now....but we've been down this road before

Ah no.
His comment was Cherry should have checked the prospect pool before commenting on not having enough Canadians on the team.
Cherry's comment was about the amount of Canadians currently on the team...not in the system.
That's all I pointed out.
Good try though.

it is not an overnight process.. anyone who thinks otherwise is naive fool

this is something that takes 3 or 4 years to do properly

i would pose this question to anyone who says otherwise

name ten players (representative of 1/3rd of the league) taken in kadri's draft class playing full time in the NHL

guarantee they cant do it.. they take the one in a thousand example and try to pass it off as the norm... its flat out absurd

Burke's drafted well. Not many picks have been left unsigned.

2009 - Kadri, Ryan, Blacker, Devane, Knodel, D'Amigo, Smith
-Knodel is still in the NCAA & Smith was let go.

2010 - Ross, McKegg, Olden, Granberg, Carrick, Brodin, Nicholls
-Olden, Brodin & Nicholls were let go

2011 - Biggs, Percy, Leivo, Nilsson, Robertson, Broll, Cameranesi, Everson, Sparks
- Already, Biggs, Percy and Broll have been signed

2012 - Rielly, Finn, Toninato, Brown, Rupert, Loov
- I don't expect Rielly and Finn to remain unsigned for very long.

10 Canadians not enough to prove he doesn't care where players are born?

you said "are any of the draft picks playing on the leafs right now?"

so your argument is burke doesnt like canadians because they havent reached the top tier of hockey yet?

thats even dumber.

I have a problem with you coming to the conclusion(wrongufully) like Cherry has, that Burke has this anti-ontario or anti-canadian bias.

Sheer riduculous and quite frankly leads someone to question your IQ

- faceto27

BB isn't anti-On or anti-CDN... he's pro American and pro US College - they are completely different things... and he particularly likes players who've played for him before.

look at BB free-agent signings.
Komisarek (Yank and sucks)
Beauchemin (Canuck, used to play for him in Anaheim)
Connolly (Yank and yuck)
Brett F____ Lebda (Yank and US College)
Armstrong (Canuck)
Bozak (Canuck - but US College product)
Scrivens (Canuck - but US College product)

but say whatever you will about BB or Cherry - the fact remains Wilson/BB buried Kadri after he was generally considered to be the best player in camp. Where's Kadri from - Ontario.

it ticks Cherry off that BB sold the farm for Kessel - a USA Hockey product.
it ticks Cherry off that Komisarek, Connolly, Lebda were signed - and the fact that they are Americians (overrated) makes it worse.
it ticks Cherry off that BB seems to ignore Toronto's back-yard - and this won't change until a few of the draft picks begin to show up on the roster.

get used to it.. Cherry will periodically rip BB a new one as long as there are relatively few Ontario boys around... .and Cherry is entitled to his opinion - and there are plenty who enjoy listening to him. so get over it.

Cherry has been right much much more than he has been wrong.

Burke will have to move assets to get both this off season, I dont care what BS he is spewing, the leafs cannot go into the season with Bozak as our #1 and Reimer/Scrivens as our goalie tandem.
Unless he wants a new job.

Aye carumba, pointing out a stat is merely pointing out a stat.

I'm not going to start a circular argument and I'm now leaving this alone after this post, I explained clearly in my last comment what I meant and I feel about a player's nationality.

Finished.
