that's the intent or theme of what Cherry was trying to point out... that Burke has put a roster together of players who don't have an afinity to the region - whereas many of other teams stars do hail from the area - then play out of their minds in front of "mom and dad".
it is an old story - and whether you agree with Cherry or not - it is true. no different than when Patrick Roy used to go back to Quebec to play.
whether BB has "intentionally" no chosen Ontario boys is a stupid twist on the arguement clearly - but the flip side of what Cherry was saying was that BB prefers colleagiate or US developed players. There can't be much arguement there... his FA signings have all been either US college grads or Americans, or guys who played for him before.
If his FA signings hadn't contained such a heavy concentration of US citizens who haven't earned there money (read "sucked") the entire dicussion wouldn't have happened. |

Players get comfortable sometimes at home, after the initial novelty wears off. You have many distractions when you grew up somewhere and less when you're new in town.
No disrespect to Cherry, but the kids of this day are not the same of players of yester-year. These players have a sense of entitlement right out of the draft. Most have to learn about respect because they have an easy road of peole feeding their egos thru junior. Big shock when everyone is as talented as you and nobody holds up from hitting you.
