Just had a Patrick Roy game in NHL 12. Gave up nine goals as a goalie. Was sent a PM telling me that I was a douche for not giving up and admitting I suck.

In the end is Matt Carle a 5 or 6 million dollar player....I don't think so....I'm hardly a big fan.....but he is a top 4 d man....with flaws.....but nothing on the UFA market after Suter is any better.....the kid may get his.....but putting the flyers against others is a mistake if he indeed wants to stay....just ask Ville Leino.

He's a 5M dollar player in my opinion. He is not a 6M dollar player in my opinion.

Manayunk mike says from a source that the flyers my look to deal Carle's rights if they can't get a deal worked out

Which situation would they be better off in as far as defenseman goes, if Carle is not re-signed?

Having traded for Schenn, or not having traded for Schenn?

So regardless if Carle stays or goes, the Flyers have improved their defensive depth.

Not following the logic here. If Carle leaves, is the defense core better than it was last year, yes or no?

JUST IN FROM A SOURCE: #Flyers may look to deal Carle's rights if they can't get a deal done SOON. PHI may have new ammo in Nash/Ryan talks.

Overall I would say no. Because Carle is a better player right now then Schenn is. But the question you have to ask, is, if they hadn't traded for Schenn, and Carle left. Would they be worse off then they are now, having traded for Schenn? I'd say yes.

So what is your point?

I think he is ballpark around $5 million but if he wants to chase the money this isn't s deep market and he could get it.

My point is, the Flyers will have traded JVR, and still not improved on the blueline. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Yes he could. And as I said earlier. If Carle is going to play that game to drive up the Flyers offer. Flyers should stick to their top offer and say here it is. Take it or leave it. Your always going to overpay somewhat. But there has to be a limit to what you'll pay. Above that, you have to look elsewhere.

Still could trade for another defenseman or sign another. I personally could live with Carle walking if they can get Garrison.

I don't agree. If they hadn't traded for Schenn and Carle walked, the blueline would be in worse shape. They have improved it, either way. Which is the better D group

He called the Staal move before the "legit sources". There was another one too but I forget which move it was, but again, before the other guys.

Not for four years, however my #1 target now would be Doan.

If he is really willing to leave Phoenix, I like what he brings.

He would be a nice player to add on the right deal.

Not interested in that. I'm concerned with improving from the year prior, and although I'm not a Matt Carle fan, replacing him with Schenn, while losing JVR in the process is not improving the team in any way. People can spin it any way they like, but that is the reality of it.

I'm waiting to see what happens Sunday.

Definately.

He could bring a lot of experience and leadership that wouldn't be there if Jagr walks. The guy can also still play, and I'd love to see him on the team.

I do think if Carle does walk though, they do need to be bringing in another d-man. There will be injuries throughout the season.

Is it possible to move Carle (rights) and Voracek for Ryan? If Anaheim is interested of course. It looks like an overpayment but that would mean Carle has no chance of resigning. I would then love to see the Flyers add Garrison.

In:
Ryan and Garrison

Out:
Carle and Voracek

What you think? I also like Doan but the years worry me. Just throwing out ideas.

I would take that trade off. Not going to happen though. I'm terrified Jagr gets resigned, and Leighton is signed to be the backup. That would be an absolute cluster(frank).
