I don't know about 29 teams... Most Flyer fans female dog and moan about Pronger's $4.9MM LTIR. If guess the difference is the over 35 contract. But, still tying up $8.7MM in a guy who has serious concussion issues. I guess this is a good sign for Pen fans, that the management believe those issues are behind him.

But that's a huge difference.

I agree with no on Jagr-Pairse-Suter-Doan. I think Carle/Ryan could change. I think if they make a trade for Ryan that includes Mez, they will need to resign Carle and sign a veteran D UFA for about $2.75-$3 mil.

I don't think its imperative they re-sign Carle if they get a veteran UFA to go with Timonen-Schenn-Grossmann-Coburn-Meszaros

Doan is the best player out there that plays with grit and in true flyer hockey. He is like Hartnell but only a better scorer and a little smarter. Don't get me wrong I love Harts but Doan is a complete hockey player and tough to play against. Would love to sign him but I do not think he leaves the desert.

I would put Parise ahead of Doan.

And Hartnell is a better scorer then Doan. Hartnell had 37 goals last Season and 67 points.

I believe Cory Perry, Ryan Getzlaf, and Shea Webber are due to be UFA's next year.

With Hartnell and Timonen off the books it might be better for Philly to make their spash next year.

As would I. Have always liked Doan a lot but if he played here, some fans would inevitably get on him about "stone hands" and "get G a real sniper" despite good overall production. He scores in similar patterns to the way Rod Brind'Amour scored during his Philly career.

I agree with that but Parise salary demand makes him out of the question. I feel Doan could be available on a three to four year deal that the flyers could serioulsy afford. Doan brings huge leadership much like Jagr but is still a very effective player at 35. The intangilbles Doan brings can not be seen on his modest 50-70 point seasons.

I would not have a problem with Doan in a Flyers uniform.

Flyers' summer rookie camp roster. Clapperton is an interesting wildcard, ala Hyka last year (but actually eligible to be signed).

That's OK. In postseason media guide, Rinaldo's height was listed as 5 inches tall.

I think 29 other teams would take Doan over Hartnell if they were the same age and paid the same. The fact is the majority of flyer fans wanted to dump Hartnell two years ago and without the great #28 Harts may well have been falling all over the ice and taking dumb penalties. Harts has always been a favourite of mine and I am glad he came through last year. Not wanting to argue here and am just saying Doan would be a welcome addition to our flyers.

Also Enström. If both Weber and Enström hit UFA status, I think the Flyers go all out for one of them, with Weber being the bigger prize but also the one that will get the most attention and $ thrown his way.

What some of the fans said about Hartnell is irrelevant. They obviously weren't correct. Hartnell has put up good numbers in previous Season, not playing with Giroux.
Doan would certainly be a welcome addition in my eyes. Just wouldn't want the deal to be too long. I'd take Doan over Jagr.

Doan is deadly on a shootout attemp and you have to remember he is playing on a very low scoring team and he is the ultimate team player. Doan has not had a talented scorer on his line since Roenick days. Whitney plays with Hanzal at center and Vrbata on rw. Doan also plays the point on the pp and has a cannon of a shot.

This kind of thinking makes me happy.

I hope they really have a deal worked out ahead of time for Carle.
The Wideman deal gave me a chill yesterday.

anyone else kinda offended by this? It's one thing to be making an obscenely huge amount of money, but to make it 8.7 just for giggles, rubs me the wrong way.
