Once, when I was a kid, I got my Uncle George in the head with a fishing hook. Five of diamonds. We had to cut it out with pylers.

True story. Also a serious one.

You're on crack. True story. Also a funny one. You've been reading too many of Ek's blogs.

Thanks for proving my point. I will wait for TSN to report this

Hmmm...Leafs fans seem a little defensive about the news they're out of the running for Justin Schultz. Seriously guys, it's okay: You have Gardiner. You'll survive.

We know we're just fine with Gardiner but we're also realistic when hearing reports and the obvious reasons Toronto would just as good a destination as Edmonton or Vancouver. We're not discussing some pipedream trade for Nash, Ryan, etc.

Its gonna be funny when this kid cant hack it and just totally busts. Id honestly rather see him go to EDM. But in Vancouver he could still play good minutes and be in the playoffs now.

My thoughts exactly, obviously it would be nice to have him but most Leaf fans have been assuming he was already a Leaf when he isn't.. we don't need another offensive-minded defenseman like him anyways, rather see him play good minutes for the Oilers.

"A report came out this evening suggesting Justin Schultz has narrowed his choices down to two teams: The Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks"

What report from who ?

- .HOHO.

http://www.detroitnews.co...defenseman-Justin-Schultz

The report clearly stars he "is reported to be leaning towards a Western Canadian team such as his hometown Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton or Calgary."

Come on, Richard, at least quote the report properly. It nothing more than second hand reporting of speculation, which essentially all we've had up till now.

The article states only Detroit and CBJ have been eliminated.

And how did he find out ?
- .HOHO.

Guy obviously has more connections than any ignornant Leafs fan who think every player in the league wants to play in TO when clearly that is not the truth.. never has been.. NEVER will be.

But I don't get the part about the Canucks having a top 4 spot.. they don't. Bieska, Edler, Hamhuis, Ballard, and Salo... nope.. no top 4 there. I understand the Canucks are trying to move Ballard... but he has a nasty contract and the Nucks would be dumb arses not to resign Edler.

It also makes sense people if you think about it. The kid is from Western Canada. The Leafs have no hope in hell in winning a cup in the next 5 years, and he wouldn't crack their top 4 dmen either. Detroit... maybe... but even their D is in pretty good shape: Quincy, Smith, Ericsson, Kronwall, Kindle... tough to crack that. As for the Ottawa stuff, I dunno. Sens had a good year, but they are losing their heart and soul in Alfie and I think they fluked out this year. Do it again and prove me wrong, then I'll believe.

And as I've said before, none of the other contending teams have a top four better than the Oil with Hall, Ebs, RNH and now Yak. Yaks may not have played a game yet but you can bet your bottom dollar he'll live up to the hype like the other three before him did. Put Schultz with those guys on the PP and you now have the number one PP in the league.

Book it.. he signs with Edmonton on Sunday.

So Clouts is on the mark because you AGREE with him? Great logic.
Maybe if Darren Dregger or Bob MacK reported this news I'd ALMOST believe them.

Take it for what it's worth, but TLinden16 may or may not have a source in Kelowna, and I may or may not be telling the truth right now...

Ballard doesnt play top 4 for them. Unless something changes. Salo doesnt have a contract. You could have edler and bieksa and Hamster for brains with Shultz

Here's where I am so misunderstood...

If the Leafs sign him, and who knows, maybe they will...Then good on you. The Leafs D currently is the envy of 20 other NHL teams, including the Oilers. Schultz would make the group even better.

The Oilers D is bad. I estimate they need to acquire two, if not three defensemen this summer, and at least one guy needs to be of top pairing quality. The Oilers can draft 10 Yakupovs and it won't improve until it sorts out the D. For Edmonton, and Justin Schultz thing is a huge deal.

Stop pretending

- .HOHO.

Righhhtttttt... cuz the Canucks have clearly shown the last two years how good they are at winning the cup... two president's trophies in a row... two playoff failures in a row. And now going to be pinning their goalie hopes on a young kid when Luo is traded. Canucks will have one more season next year to take the NW... after that they will be done. Colorado and Edmonton have too much young talent coming. The Canucks are starting to get old like Calgary was about 4 years or so ago.

At least when the Nucks choked out this year they lost to the Kings! Second favorite team behind the Oil. Hope you Kings fans are enjoying the glory down there... you deserve it after all the years of suffering you endured.

It's too bad so many Oiler fans aren't old enough to drink, just hopped on the bandwagon after the last three drafts.

I'm a diehard Leafs fan but Edmonton is a close second, always has been since I watched Gretzky burn down the house every night.

I'm just being a realist and not paying attention to any second-rate blogger or wannabe "source" on twitter. It's pretty clear that all of Vancouver, Toronto and Edmonton are on the "list" and nobody except Shultz and his agent know which way they're leaning or if they've made a concrete decision.

That's a fact. I should have written this blog, jeez.

1 playoff failure actually. Regardless of how you exit, making it the Finals is NOT a complete failure. On another note, Colorado, Edmonton, AND Minnesota. Give them a year or two and their kids will be good and ready.
