Oilers intention is to have Taylor Hall part of Schultz pitch. May have them meet in the next few days.

Sarcasm, folks. Flames overpay, over-term for Wideman. CGY in province of Alberta, State of Denial. Moving Bouwmeester now mandatory. - saskoil21
I think they shouldve brought all the kids, and said (frank) this meeting you guys go out have some drinks and get laid and then the next day be like "So imagine doing that EVERY day"
Ok so now you're a GM with cap considerations and you need a goalie and these are your two options. Who do you take? Not Pavelec unless you're Feaster oh and Cheveldayoff.
There is no argument here. The numbers don't lie. Is it really that hard to figure out for you? So keep trolling, all you're doing is exposing yourself for your lack of true hockey knowledge. Congratulations buddy! - Hockey_Hoser
Again, let me know when Dubnyk's played 68 games a season.
Thanks for copying and pasting stats comparing 1 goalie you've seen play, and another that you clearly haven't

That is a very solid point... I completely agree... as long as they are not all after the same chicks
What goalie is suppose to have great stats playing every single game of the season?
I'm a firm believer that the absolute max number of games a goalie should play is 60.
Jet's know they overplayed Pavelec, his play the last 1/3 of the year showed it. But Mason was THAT bad. They were fighting for a playoff spot and went with their starter more then they should have.
Like I said, if any of you have actually watched Pavelec enough, this isn't even an argument.
And again, I have no interest in comparing him to Dubnyk. There's no comparison to be made.

Should check out gregor's latest blog, talks about Smyth probably signing soon and the Hall part. Also a write up on Krueger.

I think they just needed hall and yaks for that job, RNH still looks like he is 12 and may or may not have gone through puberty yet, and Eberle and his gap teeth and bert and ernie eyebrows may not cut it. I am sure hall and yaks would get all the chicks they need to convince shultz to sign

Lol ya maybe good point Eberle doesnt seem to be the greatest ladies man :p
Very true... but it makes no sense to think vancouver is going to be a powerhouse every year down the road... the league is all about parity... yes we need defense but not 4 dmen... we do have alot of dmen in the system, we are stacked in the top 6, have a goalie that should be in place and a couple in the system.. our bottom 6 only requires 1 or so pieces and they may come from within... further its nice to see your team is back to trying to win a playoff series again... yippee you got to lose 4 more games than we did ... - saskoil21
Losing to a team that was obviously on a huge roll with a superstar goalie that won the Stanley cup is not something to cry about. We were missing our top goal scorer and our 2nd line center/ top shut down guy was playing with one shoulder. And ever game was close. So excuses aside LA was obviously the better team. But as I said... the oilers finished almost bottom of the league. There has been no change except the draft. These 1st round superstars may give you glory down the road. But there is much to do before you proclaim to even have a chance at the playoffs nevermind the Division. And yes Vancouver will have a let down when the Sisters slow down. Every team does. All I hope is that it doesn't follow with your pattern of being one of the worst teams in the league for 5 years. I do wish you guys luck though as I would love to see more Canadian teams in the playoffs and would cheer for the Canadian team reguardless of who.

I don't know how easy it is to look up, but you guys have to have one of the youngest teams in modern NHL history. - StayTunedMTC
well right now khaby and smyty will (frank) up that average but i know a while back they did have the youngest average age, being around 22-24 years if i remember correctly. Not always the best stat to have when we know how much experience counts to help win a cup or even make the playoffs.

Future of the NHL. - mochoson
His numbers towards the end of the season were actually MUCH better than his numbers from October to mid December...

Yeah, it's not the best stat have for sure.
But the talent that young age group has... wow. All you need is for your GM to get his head out of his ass, trade a few of your assets for proven D, doesn't need to be anyone special, and then either trade for a legit #1 or have one of your young guys work his way up and you guys will be good to go in 3-4 years.
This is just my opinion, but the good thing about D is that you really only need to sign veterans who are stay at home guys. You can have the young guys be the offensive defensemen. So it's not like you necessarily have to revamp your who D, just half of it (or however you guys set up your pairings). I've always been a fan of the 1 stay at home, 1 offensive, but not everyone employs that. You need some more grit too.
But 3-4 years, if you do most of the above, you'll be looking (frank)ing good.

Well actually we were not far off in many games- i forget how many 1 goal game losses we had- we overall improved in many areas last year. One key for 2012-13 is 5 on 5... if we can improve on 5 on 5 esp in the 3rd period when protecting a lead and (no soft goals from Dubey) I am comfortable to roll against any opposing team out there... realistically we beat many of the upper level teams or were very close games. and our 18 and 19 year olds are a year older!

I wonder how much $myth got... "8-9 million"
- laughs2907
I really don't care what he gets on one year deals. Give him 2-3mil base and 2-3mil bonuses. I was just worried he gets a 2-3 deal and gets hurt or retires or continue to decline.
