So... 5.25 for 5 years for Wideman, eh?
Calgary continues to be... well, Calgary. - Leeman4Gilmour

Dunno dude Steve Tambellini is a (frank)in loser.... can't imagine any scenario where he can talk a sought after FA like Schultz into playing for the Oilers..
If you wanna poop the bed for half a decade and get 1st overall's he's your GM... haven't seen any other evidence to suggest he can lure the big fish. - Mr_Smokey
I'm sure playing with 7 top picks might be interesting. Not to mention adding that guy next year who is supposed to be the cats meow. |

All teams that make a pitch will be offering the max money, PLaying time promises will be the big factor
EDM and TOR have the best opportunity for him
Vancouver cant offer him top 4 mins - billyberg10
Disagree. Best destination would be Detroit. |

I don't think TO offers him top 4 minutes either though. Phaneuf, Liles, Gardiner and Gunnarsson I feel will be the top 4. He could MAYBE push Gunnarsson away from partnering with Dion, but they played pretty well together. There's only 1 available spot with a lot of guys vying for it (Gunnarsson, Franson, Komisarek...who it's obviously not, etc).
That's why I think Edmonton has the best shot at it. |

Dale the Wombat @wombathockey
However, Burke has had several teams inquire about Colby Armstrong. Burke thinks Armstrong is part of solution, but will trade in right deal
Brian Burke has begun gauging interest around the league for Connolly and Lombardi, but not Armstrong @MapleLeafs #Leafs - mochoson
BB won't have to spend much time gauging interest for Connolly at least... "number of calls recieved = 0", Lombardi perhaps one or two. |

I bet you he could find a team willing to take Connolly...someone out there who will need a C and won't mind a one year deal...
....Then again I'd like to find a 5'2 blonde with a body like this...
...and that ain't happening without the help of a lottery win and a very liberal celebrity auction. |

They didn't qualify Gragniani. Apparently that was a pre-cursor. I thought Schultz would come to TO, when I heard that apparently Anaheim allowed BB to talk with Schultz's agent to work out a deal and they couldn't, it all came falling down...

True,. but he can use the "young and extremely talented forward core" as a selling factor.
He could promote the fact that they have an incredible amount of forward talent but are lacking on the back end and tell Schultz he could be the anchor on the back end of such a young team. Make him feel like he's the defensive piece they're missing. Could play to his ego a bit in that regard.
That's how I'd play it if I were Edmonton. |

I've never been much of a fan of the blow it up, tank to win mentality, but if there were ever a team in need of hitting a giant "RESET" button, it would be the Flames.
It was fun to laugh at them and poke a little fun at first, but this is really just getting pathetic. |

No, I read they didn't send him a qualifying offer which was surprising. I didn't actually follow up on the story, so it could have been wrong, but that's what I saw |

Ya, Bill Watters. Tweeted it. The connection goes like this:
Ana allowed TO to speak with Schultz's agent Sat in agreement that if the Leafs could work out a deal, TO would trade a pick or something to Ana. Henny was talking about another trade coming (He gave no details) after the Schenn deal, that never materialized into anything and that is what I figure the Toronto/Anaheim situation was.
So, that deal fell through and late Sunday night (I think) Mackenzie tweeted about Vancouver being a favorite in the sweepstakes.
I don't know man, take it for what you think it's worth. |

IMO, Schultz looks past the frigid and boring city of Edmonton and signs with their promising roster. Where else would someone of his age want to play right now!? Edmonton is a few more players from being stupid good. |

Maybe, but if Schultz is looking for ice time guarantees, he's least likely to see it in Van. Gragnani was a bottom pairing dman, there's no way he'd sign there if Van's pitch was to have him as Gragnani's replacement. |

Pffft.
The leaf fans only come to Buffalo games because our season ticket holders are smart enough to know that sucker Leaf fans will spend their whole paychecks to watch their team in another building, therefore basically paying for a portion of the Sabres season ticket holder's bill.
So, in that regard, thank you Maple Laugh fans. - Powerslave
maybe we pay the same amount as ur paycheck but it's maybe ones days pay for leafs fans. |

Gardiner convinced him to stay in school and bulk up, you gotta think that Gardiner talked to him about not signing in Anaheim and joining him in Toronto. This whole "meeting all the teams" thing is to make sure that tampering is not suggested |
