Wow, that's actually a scary possibility. Imagine if it's 70.3 right now, then it drops to the 63 that it's proposed that it COULD drop to. That's a BIG problem for probably a lot of teams. I wonder what GM's are going to do in this offseason knowing the possibilities.
Also, it's crazy to think that the cap started at 39 million and has almost doubled in 6 years. - Domaju
a lot of it has to do with the strong canadian dollar. |

We would add more money to the bottom 6???
Lombardi, connolly, Army, Kuli and Doan???? That's a lot of cash against our cap for character role players. - stevecarpetman
you see Doan as bottom 6?
hmm.
I dont.. I see him over Kuli by a long long ways

I don't know. I don't have any idea how the dollar affects the economy to be honest. It's not something I am able to grasp. However, regardless of what the reason, it's still potentially a big problem for teams. |

Vancouver? Why do you have them so high up? I would have thought Edmonton and/or Toronto would have been higher based on what I've seen reported. |

I actually think he ends up in Edmonton. They need a top d-man pretty badly and SHOULD be willing to offer a nice contract to him and all but guarantee him top pairing minutes right away. That should be enticing in my opinion. |

Seems like they are saying he wants to play at home...or at least close to home. I don't think the Leafs are gonna get him now. When it first came out I would have bet that he was a Leaf, but not now. |

However, Burke has had several teams inquire about Colby Armstrong. Burke thinks Armstrong is part of solution, but will trade in right deal
Brian Burke has begun gauging interest around the league for Connolly and Lombardi, but not Armstrong @MapleLeafs #Leafs |

the contract is irrelevant I believe, since it's an ELC (900K max?), so it's down to max playing minutes top 4 D vs buddy Jake/Drafting GM Burke/starting lineup shot... |

When Armstrong is healthy he's been beneficial to have. Problem is that he's getting injured a lot. But to me, that's fine. Have him play and be good for the team and if he gets injured there are some good young guys who can be put in his spot. |

You can add bonuses with ELCs.

Yeah, true. I would think he'd value playing time quite high. Having your buddy in Jake is irrelevant sort of if you aren't on the same time. If Schultz is on the Marlies they live in the same city but what are the odds of seeing much of one another during the season? |

All teams that make a pitch will be offering the max money, PLaying time promises will be the big factor
EDM and TOR have the best opportunity for him
Vancouver cant offer him top 4 mins

Really?
Dunno dude Steve Tambellini is a (frank)in loser.... can't imagine any scenario where he can talk a sought after FA like Schultz into playing for the Oilers..
If you wanna poop the bed for half a decade and get 1st overall's he's your GM... haven't seen any other evidence to suggest he can lure the big fish. |

I thought everybody was on the Leafs free agent shopping list. Doesn't the whole league want to play in Toronto?
- Powerslave
true... but only true after the players have visited Buffalo.... its on the panic'd drive out of Buffalo that they realize that they'd rather be in Toronto. |

They didn't qualify Gragniani. Apparently that was a pre-cursor. I thought Schultz would come to TO, when I heard that apparently Anaheim allowed BB to talk with Schultz's agent to work out a deal and they couldn't, it all came falling down...
Van city it is, good on them. |
