Bring in Schultz, sign him. Get yourself a solid defender/goalie through trade, as we all know they have TONS of offensive talent they can afford to move...and BOOM they are already almost there. Schultz is crazy if he doesnt see what Edmonton can offer him in 2-3 years.

Lets put it this way...they have PLENTY of options...and keep in mind too, they dont CURRENTLY have the defenseman they wont, but they do also have a few more coming up in the ranks. I think they could move one of their top talents, and a guy like MPS and bring in enough to make them well rounded.

re-reviewing MPS....hes actually been struggling quite a bit eh? I knew he was a project and had potential, but for some reason I thought he was better than hes shown to date.

I'd argue they need to replace 4 of their 6 dmen to be competitive. Signing Schultz for free means they still have to get another 3...

EDIT: They would've done themselves a huge favour drafting Murray IMO.
